SUNDAY is Funday…
Today, I have two non-equine stories.
The first is about crows.
1) THE CROWS AND THE WALNUTS.
Maybe many of you have seen this video… I hadn’t.
Crows like walnuts. But, it is difficult for a crow to crack a walnut. Sometimes they fly up high with the nut and drop it to see if it will crack when the nut hits hard ground.
Recently, crows have solved the walnut cracking problem in a brilliant way. This is how their solution evolved.
First, they tried dropping the walnuts on streets so cars would crack them as the nuts were run over. However, this presented a problem because the ravens could also be run over when trying to collect the goods…
So now the crows have learned to drop the walnuts onto CROSSWALKS! The cars drive over the nuts, crack them and when the light turns green, the crows use the crosswalk to walk over and retrieve the nuts.
Brilliant.

2) THE STORY OF JACK THE SIGNALMAN.
Hubby sent this to me… Here is the original link.

Did not feel a thing… We are too far away. Surprised that Napa was hit… not usually the EQ area.
Dawn!
Are you near the earthquake?
HOPING ALL IS OK!!!!!!
