Most of you probably already know all about Royal Blue Boon.
She was an amazing mare… and I was fortunate enough to meet her when I was producing the Television Series, HORSE AND MAN.
In retrospect, this is a bit humorous because I was in Texas to interview the sculptor, Kelly Graham, who then brought me to Hall Cutting Ranch to see one of his sculptures against the actual subject.
The actual subject was Royal Blue Boon.
Silly Morgan me, had no understanding of the privilege and honor bestowed upon my lucky self that day. I barely even knew who she was… I had heard the “Boon” names in many of my Quarter Horse friends’ horses, but I didn’t know.
That was 11 years ago…; Now, I know!
Here is the start of an obituary I found in the Quarter Horse News linked here. It gives you a background, in case you don’t know about Quarter Horses either…
INTERVIEW!
So, on that fateful day 11 years ago, I found myself on Hall Cutting Horses Ranch, talking with Royal Blue Boon, her owner Elaine Hall and the sculptor who crafted a life-sized bronze of RBB and one of her foals…
I had no idea where I was or how fortunate I was to be there!
Here are some photos from that day. And, below, there is a video!
THE VIDEO!
Here is a video I put together of that rainy day… The mare was so queenly and perfect in her being. She knew she was special. Click here to watch or click on the photo below.
A FEW MORE PHOTOS OF ROYAL BLUE BOON…
