Well, it is Sunday and I just couldn’t help myself from clicking about…

You see, I received my Cowboys & Indians magazine (which I proceeded to rip apart) and found several items which led me to several other items… and then a few hours pass and I feel the need to tell you all!  So, I’m sharing some of the prize clicks of the day!

First of all, I want you to know that I have not one item of Western wear in my closet.  I don’t have any Western tack and my belt buckles are very subdued.  However, I’m in love with the imagery.  If Hubby would let us, we would live in a lodge-style log house filled with Western furniture and art.  I’d probably even hang chaps on the wall and sit a retired branding iron in the corner.  But, alas, I am stuck just dreaming of Western landscapes and overstuffed couches.

Ah well, I guess I’m forcing my picks on you … but I figure maybe some of my clicks will lead you to new and fabulous clicks of your own.

OK, I’ve spoken about Teresa before (link here) and nothing has changed in my love affair with her work…

But lookey what I found!   You can now purchase this coffee table book that has her image on the cover!  Love that!  I think it would be a great Xmas gift, too.

The other wonderful news is that I found a gallery that sells limited edition prints!  Yay!

I found this little tack shop somewhere on line and I thought that maybe I have some gems here…

–First, I love hand braided horse hair things.  Do you?  If so, you’ll really appreciate this fabulous headstall.  Here is the link to visit it up close.  I copied the description here:

–They also had a used headstall that was very ‘old school’ and I kinda thought it was special for a very low price.  I thought it was unusual, worn in well, had traditional adornments and looked like it had a history.  Here are some pics and the link. I have the description:

Handmade Headstall Two Marked Silver Mounted Buckles?This is a used handmade slide ear headstall with two silver mounted cart buckles. The headstall and buckles were made by Randy Arnold. Randy is a long time cowboy, trainer, and cutter out of Dawn, Texas. The headstall is made out of harness leather. The buckles are completely hand cut with no laser cut pieces. The buckles are steel mounted with engraved german silver. The buckles are marked with Randy’s mark R. There is some surface cracking in the leather but it still has a lot of use left in it. This was one of Randy’s early personal headstalls. This would be a nice headstall to use.

–While I was in the used but not abused area, I saw these stirrups.  If I was in the market, I’d totally get these.  I love a wider foot pad and I like Ox Bow style.  And, I don’t ever see them like this.  I read about them and they are at least 30 years old.  Hmmmm.  Cool.  They look a little narrow but I didn’t call to get the sizes.  But, if they could only talk… Another bit of history.  Here is the description:

Nickel Plated Diablo 2’ Tread Oxbow Stirrups These are an original pair of stirrups that come off a pair of tapaderos with Visalia silver I bought 30 years ago, they are in mint condition and have leather wear guards. $150. Currently at Beckman’s Saddle Shop, in Pendleton, OR

–Next I came upon some hand done silver earrings in a shape I hadn’t seen often.  And, bonus, they were relatively inexpensive ($82)!

Sterling Sliver Engraved Teardrop Earring Posts ?This pair of sterling silver antiqued earrings is the last pair of this style made by the Hiram West Company. They are fully engraved and 1 7/8 inches long. These are hand made with great attention to detail. $82.00

–The last few little treats on this particular website were these pipe rail mounted saddle rack and bridle hook.  I don’t have a round pen, but if I did, I bet these would come in handy.  They weren’t expensive, only $45 and $68 respectively.   I’m not sure if these are common knowledge, but I had not seen them before.  Here is the descriptor:

CUFFS!

I found this website that had TONS of tack and articles of interest.  I actually gave up searching through it because I got tired.  And for me, that is saying a lot!  Anyway, I found a huge array of cuffs.  You know, wide banded bracelets.  These are in leather.  I liked this one the best but there are many and they aren’t that expensive.

LEATHER CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS!

What a concept!   These are different, eh?  Every year I try to find one unusual stocking to add to my collection.  This is a great find for me!

There were many to choose from and I just picked three here.  The prices are a bit less than most unusual stockings (only $75) and I thought they would be a nice addition to any mantle, especially in a horse home.  I guess I liked that they weren’t too ‘cute’.  I don’t like ‘cute’.  Here is the link so you can see all the different models.
