I wanted to visit PLLLL who now lives with two donkeys (Gus and Stella), a horse (Gilly) and my neighbors.
It is bittersweet when I go visit… I’m happy that she is happy, but I’m sad that Hubby’s scrappy little dog decided to make her his victim and therefore forced her exile from us. Ugh.
Anyway, I enjoy visiting PLLLL because I find her so interesting and aloof. I loved watching her when she lived here. I had never gotten particularly good at haltering her or touching her, but we had a nice understanding – I think.. not sure… Whenever I would venture into her pasture, she’d walk right behind me and stare over my shoulder as we moved.
She wouldn’t let me touch her (ewww, yukky), but she would fall in line right behind me as if I was the Drum Major himself.
I found that so interesting. Was I her protector?
Clearly, I didn’t do a very good job since Shiva went after her.
But, I guess, in the long run, she is protected now. Thank you, Fradam.
MY PICTORIAL VISIT

PLLLL was smiling at me as I handed her the delicacies… but then the donks came faster and she pinned her ears.

I was having trouble keeping my fingers out of the lens…. but here she is nibbling on baby blackberry leaves.

I put this in just because it was an interesting accident. I have no memory of taking this… I obviously shot the ground. But, I see two perfect shadows. One donk, one llama.

I swear she was asking me why I was there and if I was going to take her away again… I told her, no. She was safe and fine here with her new herd.

It is almost time to shear her again. We got quite a nice bit of fiber from her last year… but it took them a while to clean it. I can see why. LOOK AT HER DIRTY COAT!

As I was leaving, she gave me this awful face… I think the visit was too short and we didn’t get to talk enough. I will revisit. Fran said I should come on a weekend so that there would be more people to corral the donks away. Probably a good idea although I did enjoy today’s visit.

Don’t forget the March Bucket Fund! THIS GUY and 8 of his Bachelor Wild Herdmates are now behind pipe corral bars in prison. To read about their plight and help, click here!

We are in the process of buying a new house, and a goat and LLAMA come with the place. He is black just like PLLL and gelded. Very wild, so I will have a challenge to get him tamed down. I think of you and your PLLL all the time.
Gilly’s registered name is Gilly Prime; he’s an Appendix QH and his great-granddaddy was Bold Ruler. He’s nearly 20 but still full of beans :-)
Loved the visit with PLLLL. I actually did laugh out loud (on the commute bus), when I got to the photo of her majesty, with the twig sticking out. LLamas have always been just beyond my understanding until you shared her with us.
Good pictures of Princess Llama as I was scrolling down through the pictures and saw the one with the horse named Gilly. So funny, my horse is named Gilly! Wondering where your friend got the horse’s name from. I named my Gilly after Vince Gill, whom I adore! :-)
