I don’t know about you… but often I just need a break from it all…
Most of the time, I go out and hang with the horses.
But sometimes I look at art.
To me, when I see a piece that has erupted out of the genius of some human, I sit in awe and wonderment…
How do they do that?
How did they even think to do that and then how did they actually do that?
Art amazes me.
And, Teresa Elliott is one of my favorites.

This one is called, Tabasco.
Wow.
TODAY, I DECIDED TO LOOK AND SEE WHAT WAS NEW
I know that much of her work hangs in private collections over excessively gorgeous rock fireplaces and massive mantles – like the Coors family – so I figure I might not be getting one for myself real soon… (although that was my New Year’s Resolution this year and I was only halfway kidding…).
Anyway, she has big shows during this time of year so I was hoping Teresa might have had time to post some of her new work…
Lo and Behold, when I went to her site, I found out that we all just missed her in the Settler’s West Summer Show in Tuscon. However, the first two images here are from that show.
Sigh.
I SWEAR I WILL HAVE A MANTLE AND AN ELLIOTT.
Some day… Some day…
You should go poke around her website and you might become as addicted as I am… I especially love the photo of her studio. It is almost as if you can feel the cool breeze coming through the room colored by the perfect lighting floating in the air. It feels like peace and serenity to me.
…Probably why I go to look at art when I need some calm.
Sigh. Again.
Here are more new pieces – or new to me, anyway.

I would love to see this in person.

Look at that reflection. How do they do that? How do artists see what they see and paint what they paint? A mystery to me…

Such a strong image.

Another fantastical mystery to me. I couldn’t even put a stick figure in water…
THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME TAKE YOU ALONG during my art fix.
I feel better now and I hope you do, too!
