Today, I visited my mother in San Francisco. She still lives in the house where we grew up. I think the house has shrunk because whenever I go back, it seems so much smaller than when I was a child.
Anyway, all was good until I tried to leave the city. I swear to horsegods, crossing the Bay Bridge took so long, I could have gotten out of my car and walked – backwards – across the bridge and made it there faster. Horrid traffic. Glad I don’t live there anymore…
But, the good news… when I arrived home, this was waiting for me!

This was waiting for me when I got home!
THE BACKSTORY…
Many of you have seen the viral You Tube video of the rock climber ex-Marine who just happened upon a puppy trapped in a crevice, 350′ below the path. The climber, Zachary Anderegg was so incensed by this – because he was certain the poor dog was put there by a human – that he knew he had to do whatever it took to rescue this dog who was on death’s door.
Zack gives the pup a blanket and all the food/water he had with him. Then, he climbed back out, went home, gathered stuff, went back, tied himself onto his rig and then made his way back to the pup – who was still alive.
Zach then put the pup in a cage and hoisted him back up the 350′ to the surface and drove him immediately to the vet hospital.
Riley made it…
THE BOOK – the rescue story… and more!
This book tells that story, but also the story of how the dog then saved Zach. Since Hubby is Military – having survived Iraq – I think this book will be close to us both…
I will tell you all about it when I’ve finished.
