What a shocking Natural Disaster.
(bowing head…)
Wow. Counting blessings…
And, thinking of all the animals who were also victims.

One of the horses who survived the mudslide and is now displaced and temporarily housed at the local Fairgrounds.
SUMMER RAFFO PERISHED. SHE LEFT 20 HORSES AT HOME, WAITING FOR HER RETURN.
Of those unfortunate people caught at the wrong place, wrong time… Summer Raffo had just left her house 15 minutes earlier to make a trimming appointment.
Her brother found Summer, expired in her truck, 200 feet from the highway. Swept away.
Summer had 20 beloved horses at home.
Samantha, Summer’s best friend, is caring for Summer’s horses and will give us photos and information as the month progresses. Right now, Summer’s family is overwhelmed a too consumed to care for the horses.
Understood.
The Bucket Fund is collecting for any needs of Summer’s horses…
ALL THE OTHERS… LOST AND HOUSED AT THE FAIRGROUNDS
There are several other horses lost and/or displaced who are temporarily housed at the local Fairgrounds. Some of them have families that have lost everything, some are lost and unclaimed.
Many food donations have arrived for the Fairground horses, but if any horses are found in need medically or otherwise – our contact at NorthWest Equine Stewardship will keep us informed. We can help them, too!
CAN WE HELP SUMMER’S HORSES AND THE LOST HORSES?
I would really like to make a difference here. I’d like to make sure Summer can rest knowing her animals have an abundance of care available.
No one ever wants to be swept away, never able to care for their beloved animals again… I want all of those souls to rest in peace.
