Today, I have to stop being lazy around here… I need to finish cleaning the closets and the tack room. So, that is what I will do.
HERE WE GO!
I had a bunch of photos from our Team Penning exercise while we were at the RLazyS Ranch. I’m totally embarrassed about my lack of skill… but I will also say that the calves either went right into the pen, or wouldn’t move at all. This made it fun, frustrating and humbling, for sure!

I love this horse. His name is Cash. He was born on the Ranch. He’s big, calm and strong. He loves to chase the cows. So. Much. Fun.

This steer got it right away and just walked himself into the pen. He figured it was better than getting chased…. He is very cute.

Adam (our neighbor in Grass Valley who comes with us every year), was on a draft horse named Sundance. Here we are, pushing the Oreo steer.

Here we are, discussing strategies. The calves were not moving very quickly – at all. (I love how the horses in the field behind, keep watch.)

This was our approach. Fran, on Banana Cream, is Adam’s wife and our third Team member.

We are looking at our prospect calf, who wouldn’t move off the rail.

We are doing everything we can think of to get him to move. This is a timed event…

Here he breaks away!

Here is where we fell apart…

Here we are, regrouping after losing the calf.

Gorgeous wild ones.

I spit my coffee on this one.

OMG. The dog’s shirt is THE BEST.

I swear the mare is smiling.
