In June, I went to the Western States Horse Expo. While there, I stumbled across some interesting people selling unusual items.
One of those items was…

I found this small booth stacked with only one item. Mosquito control. Hundreds of boxes of the same thing, stacked neatly.
I was intrigued.

I ventured into the booth and discovered a very nice, scientific looking man. As soon as he started speaking, I could tell that he was the developer. This guy knew everything there was to know about mosquitoes, specifically, what makes them bite and what chemistry will make them not bite.
Everything he said made sense.
I had a gut feeling that I was onto something big here…
Hmmmm. I picked up one of the many identical boxes stacked before me.
The product box said:

I BROUGHT THEM HOME
I brought them home and put one out.
You have to set them low to the ground…
Like a person who doesn’t live with 2 large puppies (oy), I set them out (very easy) on the ground.
And, like a person who does have 2 large puppies, the EverSafe Mosquito Protection little green house was d-e-s-t-r-o-y-e-d instantly.
Sigh.
So, I called the company 941.373.1320 and spoke to a lovely woman who completely understood. She suggested I put a grate over them or a metal mesh table over them. She said they were developing hanging bags since the ‘my dog destroyed my mosquito protection house’ was a common cry.
Anyway, she sent two more.
I gave one to my neighbor and I hid one behind our barbeque – in a spot too small for 2 giant puppies.
They work on large areas! Ours in on our patio.
THEY WORKED!
They work!
I have not seen one, not one, mosquito!
My neighbors, who entertain outside all the time, have not seen a mosquito either!
They totally work.

Gosh… if you followed the directions, I have no idea why it didn’t work… I even took it to Wyoming with me and set one on the ground
on our porch and we were the only people to not have mosquitoes. So sorry. Dunno. Maybe contact the manufacturer and ask them.

Well, this didn’t work for us at all. (I’m sitting here covered in welts.) Maybe it doesn’t work on all species of mosquitoes? We have some supersized skeeters here in TX.
They DO work! Bought ’em last year, per your recco, and they are AMAZING! Bought ’em also for my folks in FL and some friends who live on a lake – all are super happy!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am getting some. I sit hear scratching at the various skeeter bites I have (top of the big toe, really?). I don’t have a problem with fleas but quitos just love me.
They need a similar product for flies!!!
