So I drive past this house every time I go visit my mother. Or course, my eye is always drawn to it – which could be a driving hazard on this freeway – but I’m not sure if I love it for its bizarre nature – or if I don’t. When I saw this article, I was intrigued because I’ve always wondered, “Who lives there?!”
The issue, with the surrounding neighbors, is not the house itself (believe it or not) as the house was there before the new owner purchased it.
The problem, they say, is the insertion of animals sculptures. Dinosaurs in particular.
For me, I actually love the sculptures and don’t like the house. But, this is America… so … freedom to do what you want with your house (outside of COAs) – but I’d be bummed if I lived nextdoor. (Hillsborough is a VERY tony part of town…).
What do you think?

The owner of a San Francisco home adorned with sculptures of Flintstones characters has hit out after a lawsuit was filed to have them removed.
Florence Fang, 85, has accused the affluent town of Hillsborough of harassing and discriminating against her after officials sued, calling the display a public nuisance and eyesore.
The owner of the famous Flintstone House and her lawyer announced Thursday they’d be filing their own lawsuit accusing officials of violating the First Amendment and causing her emotional distress.

Hillsborough lawyer Mark Hudak claimed residents are required to get a permit before installing such sculptures, regardless of the theme.
At the end of a news conference, Ms Fang linked arms with her attorney and the home’s original architect, exclaiming: ‘Yabba dabba do!’

Sculptures are an eyesore? Animal sculptures? Good heavens, have they looked at the house they presumably did approve at some point in time??
Hope she wins her case. What a waste of councils time. The house itself is so out of tune with the neighbourhood, how can a few scultures make it worse.
