Update on famous broodmares: ZENYATTA HAS HER SECOND COLT and RACHEL ALEXANDRA returns home from a month in the hospital!

Oh the Ladies have been busy!

RACHEL ALEXANDRA

As you heard previously, Rachel Alexandra suffered complications after foaling and had to have immediate (and very serious) surgery.

Here RA looks over all of her ‘get well’ cards while in the hospital…

She was in the hospital for a month… some complications made everyone a bit tense… but she is now home!

Bravo all involved! Important to catch it early, treat it right, and pray.

ZENYATTA HAS ANOTHER COLT!: ON HER OWN BIRTHDAY!

Our girl Zenny had another colt born on her own birthday – April 1st!

The colt weighed approximately 145lbs and was sired by Tapit. (Some are now calling this colt, ‘Zapit’, but that is not his official name.)

Did you know that Zenny has her own blog? Well, she does. And, she updates often so you might want to check it out!

Today, I perused her birthing blogs and grabbed these photos to share with you. All of them, I think, were taken by Kyle Acebo. I wanted to make sure he was credited for these lovely shots.
