The blind horse, Valiant. A perfect story about a horse and his human…

Welcome to Horse and Man Lite.

Yup. While recovering from surgery and vacationing with the family, I would like to bring to you VALIANT:  The blind horse and his human, Jeanette Sassoon.

A reader sent this article to me and I thought it was the perfect story to share.  After all, this blog is about the relationships between equines and their humans.  What a great story this is – the young, blind horse who is brought to excellence through the dedication of his owner.

So, I have the article as well as a very nice trailer for the documentary on their life together.

Jeanette Sassoon and Valiant. He is blind.

NOW, THE MOVIE TRAILER

I figured there had to be some You Tube video on the two… but instead of the dressage movie I expected,  I found this trailer about their documentary!  John Lyons is shown here as well as other celebrity dressage people.

I think many of the quotes in this trailer are very nice… one went something like this:

You think this is about competition (visual: dressage arena in the background), but with them, it is so much more.  It is mutual respect.

I loved that.

Truly… isn’t this kind of trust and bond what we all wish for with our horses?

Lovely.

OMG you have got to go over to Beauty’s Haven and see Betsy Rose! Your eyes won’t believe what they are seeing! She looks so much better! It’s astounding! Betsy still has a longs to go. I’m not to going to kid you. But if you look at the pictures of that awful day when she was picked up to now–your heart will sing. Betsy is truly inspiring. She tries so hard!

Today she actually walked up this little hill at Beauty’s Haven WITHOUT tripping! Her first time!

As for Valiant–let us know when the book is released cause I want the first copy! Prefer Kindle but am willing to buy a regular book!

Great story! Reminds me of Becca and Stormy, another remarkable blind horse and rider team. I wonder how many others are out there, working hard yet unsung? Thanks for bringing us this story.
