I spent the entire day cleaning the barn.
Well, actually, I spent several hours trying to put together the shelving unit I bought to organize all of my tack room stuff… I needed to be an octopus to gather the parts, steady the sides and fit the shelves – all at once.
I swear the horses were laughing.
At one point, I think they were actually motioning with their ears on how I should be doing it.
SAM: What is she doing?
REMI: I think she’s having a seizure!
SAM: NO! If she has a seizure, how will she feed us?
REMI: Maybe she is dancing with that metal stuff… or fighting with it. Not sure.
GWEN: Shhhh. She is trying to think! Let her think so she can feed us!
MT: Poor Human. Always with the metal stuff… Clearly she is making a gate and she’s trapped inside of it…
Oy.
In spite of myself, I did finish the shelving unit. And, I mostly cleaned the tack room… but the best part was spending the day with Mama Tess.
She was such a pest (I loved that she was healthy enough to get in my way all day!). I had to shoo her away constantly. Finally, I locked her in her stall.
TESS (pouting in her stall): Fine. I’ll just look out my window. I don’t care.
ME: I’m happy to see you getting around so well, MT. But, I can’t get anything done with you in my way!
TESS (looking back over her shoulder at me): But I thought you loved me…
ME (sighing): OK, C’mon back out… you can get in my way as much as you’d like. I’m just happy you are here, my girl. I’m just happy you are here.
