What the heck am I talking about?
Well… I went to the Western States Horse Expo yesterday and yes, I did see many interesting products which I will speak about over this coming few weeks.
But, what I’m left with this morning is the memory of what I call, ‘The Next Potato Peeler King” – or I should say, “Queen” in this case.
She sells the EZ BUN and, to be honest, her schpeel was AMAZING.

Women were clamoring to watch this demo, over and over… it was like cavemen seeing fire for the first time.
THE EZ BUN
Huh?
But it made perfect sense in the environment and women were flocking.
Here was her booth, among all the very horsey booths, targeting the Dressage crowd but ending up with every kind of woman there.
Her booth is not like the others… not supplements or feed or hair care, or natural this or that, not saddles or tack, or trainers, or gear…
Clearly, she is selling something different.
… which drew a crowd.
A large crowd of 3 deep, and 10 across – all with their mouths open like Cavemen viewing fire for the first time.
It was the kind of crowd that makes everyone else want to cram themselves in to see what incredible thing they were selling.
And that’s what I did…

Click to watch this video… She did this over and over and over, never tiring. Women were watching in amazement and buying up everything she had.
THE POTATO PEELER KING OF NY
Do you know of this guy? (Here is a link to an article with video about him.)
This guy sat on a NY street corner, day after day – year after year, always in a suit and tie. He sold excellent, Swiss potatoe peelers.
That’s it. That’s what he sold on a street corner for many years.
He died a very, very wealthy man…
The EZ Bun lady reminds me of him. Dedicated. Willing to say the same thing and demonstrate the same thing over and over and over and over… all the way to the bank.
I found myself cheering her, silently.

ONCE, WHEN THE CROWD WAS SMALLER…
I walked over to her and asked if the company was hers.
Yes.
Did she make the items herself.
Yes.
Where did she live?
California and (I think she said) Alabama.
… and then I watched her continue to sell her inexpensive products over and over again – and take in a handsome amount of money in a short amount of time.
Just like the Potato Peeler King of NY.
Smart girl.
HATS OFF!
All I can say is, ‘HATS OFF’!
I have short hair that hardly fits in a ponytail – and I bought two for myself and two for the girls.
As I perused the EZ Bun website (that is her in all the photos, by the way), I did note that all of the instructional videos were shot at her home with a beautiful body of water in the background.
Hmmm. Tee Hee.
I think she is doing just fine… ;)
HORSE AND MAN is a blog in growth… if you like this, please pass it around!

JJune Bucket Fund horse is 42 year old ex Police horse – present working therapy horse, Buster, who needs a sponsor!! His Senior feed is expensive!

GOOD FOR HER!!! I bet she works her, ahem, buns off selling those things and I hope she IS making a lot of money! It certainly helps that she herself has beautiful shiny blonde hair. And I bet she also has some pretty well-developed arm muscles from reaching upwards hours a day, LOL!
I great up going to NYC on a monthly basis for most of my childhood. I never had the honor of seeing the potato peeler guy in action, but I can tell he was a beloved institution. If we had walked by him I guarantee you I would have been mesmerized and wanted my mother to buy one of his implements, and she in turn would have dragged me away protesting. :-) Even today she prefers to do things in the kitchen the “hard way,” despite my pleas for her to please watch me as I know a better method…
