I AM SO SORRY that I didn’t post yesterday. I had surgery.
Day surgery… so I thought I’d be in and out, no worries. Up and working in an hour.
Ummmm.
Didn’t happen that way.
I was flat out – kinda still am – and couldn’t see at all, let alone write.
So, sorry about that.
And, for all of you who donated to the Bucket Fund and didn’t get a timely response – that’s why.
For today, while I’m still not firing at 100%, I thought I’d pass on this story of the horse who jumped his fence to join the Tour de France in 2007. (Thank you, kind reader, for telling me about this.)
True Story…
I love how the horse looks so happy and very proud of himself… and free!! But, the best part was the horse jumping the fence. I bet he’s said to himself that he could take that fence a million times. But this time he had just enough juice in him to DO IT!
I wonder how his owner felt watching this on TV…
(I was never able to be sure that this was the Tour de France – I couldn’t find any news article. But, if you speak French, maybe you can decipher. In any event, this is fun to watch!)
Click here or the rather fuzzy pic below to watch the video!
HORSE AND MAN is a blog in growth… if you like this, please pass it around!

First off… hope you heal quickly! Second, that was a cool video, but I can’t help wonder if the horse road foundered. That’s a lot of pounding on a hard surface. Speaking of which, I’ve been looking for an update on Mama Tess. Is there good news?
More infor needed here:
The Critérium International is a two–day bicycle stage race held in France every spring. It was formerly known as the Critérium National de la Route, first run in 1932.
The incident happened in the Criterium International, not the Tour de France, in 1997 in the south west of France near Toulouse.
One comment said the horse was killed, but I couldn’t find the link to the news story.
Glad you’re feeling better! How’s Mama Tess doing? I’ve been traveling so out of the loop.
Hope you are feeling good as new in no time! Sending healing thoughts your way.
Love the shot of the horse leading the Riders over the Bridge. He looks so happy.
Hope he made it back to his field in good health, with no problems!!
Hoping you feel better soon Dawn.
