First Receipt from our KEEP THEM OFF THE TRUCK FUND! We saved a Palomino mare from the slaughter truck!

ASIAB went to a killpen livestock auction in Texas over the weekend.  I offered our total balance in the Keep Them off the Truck Fund ($2300).  Luckily, there was only one horse who had no other support and was in line for the direct ship to the slaughterhouse.

A tiny (14.3′) Palomino mare with horrible feet.

Here she is.  You all saved her.  She has really bad feet which have already had their first trim.  She will need corrective shoeing until these issues can resolve.  Other than that, I’m still waiting to hear more about her.

GREAT JOB, EVERYONE!!

WE GET TO NAME HER!

Everyone who donated … I will put their name in a hat and then email the winner.  That person can pick her name!

Sad reality. We lost one of our February Bucket Fund colts. However, the young filly is still fighting!

It is always so sad when we lose the fight.

The tiny Indian colt could not hold on.  He was too far gone.  So sad.  Bend Equine Hospital did all in their power to save him.   The best comfort is to know that he was well cared for and loved in the end.

He was loved.

BUT THE FILLY IS STILL FIGHTING AND SHE NEEDS US!

The filly is standing and fighting.  Please let us help her continue the fight.  Bend Equine and 3 Sisters Equine Refuge are doing everything possible to help her recover.

All donations are 100% tax deductible.  THANK YOU for making a difference in her life!

She was down for 8 hours…

But today she is standing!

A NOTE FROM 3 SISTER EQUINE WHO RESCUED THESE FOALS.

Refeeding a horse that has been starved to near death is complicated and dangerous. While ones heart wants to pile food in front of an emaciated horse, the concept would overwhelm the digestive and metabolic system and kill them.
As we refeed baby Yarrow she is fighting against “refeeding syndrome”. We will post an informational article about this below.
Yarrow is a little warrior and she has a team of people fighting with her. After being down for a dangerous 8 hours, we were able to physically support her to stand today (thank you Bend Equine Medical Center) Honestly, we thought her body was giving up, but she has more fight in her—we all do.
Yarrow symbolizes healing and protection. Some of the other things it means – everlasting love, courage and war, good health and a representation of psychic powers.
We hope all this and more for this powerful girl. Please keep the strong energy coming her way. It makes a difference. The hours are critical, as are the prayers while she fights hard to defy the odds.

THANK YOU.  HELPING THIS FILLY HEALS MY HEART AND I HOPE IT HELPS YOURS.
