Webisodes? Podcasts? Hmmmmmmm.

Hubby and I had an interesting day!

Many of you might not know that HORSE AND MAN was a TV series initially.   We shot the pilot and all the episodes – but only completed the pilot (the pilot sells on Amazon – I get $.53 each time one sells).

The Series sat on a shelf at a big network for the duration of its contract.  Now it is mine again – sitting, still unedited, on a shelf.

Anyway, we had an appointment at a division of NBC today.  I had high hopes of landing some production work but the conversation turned in a different direction during the meeting.

The guy said to me that since my blog audience was large, and I had 13 episodes of horsey footage sitting on a shelf, I needed to create webisodes or podcasts of all of that footage – short snippets every Monday or something – and get syndicated that way.

He said that if my readers liked my videos, and they watched and gave the podcasts many (millions) of views, HORSE AND MAN would have a great shot at a series – or some kind of web hallmark anchorage.

Hmmmmm.

BUT CAN’T I HIRE SOMEONE TO DO IT?  OH WAIT, I HAVE NO MONEY…

Sure, it would be easy if I could hire an editor.  But, they are around $225/hour.

Yikes!

Hmmm, how could I do this?

How indeedy…

Yup.

I could do it myself.

Ack.  ACK! ACKACK!

Yes.  I know…

Seems like a no-brainer.

Except…

I’m a L-O-U-S-Y editor.  I totally stink at editing.  It takes me forever…

And, since I know what good editing looks like, I know that I stink.

Not only that, I’d have to buy a new computer to hold all of that information.  My computer is already too full… and too slow.

Hmmmmm.

BUT TODAY WAS THE DAY I WAS GIVEN THE IDEA…

The truth is… I do know how to edit, I’m just slow and bad at it.  And, the truth is, I do have all the equipment to at least get started… kinda.

Yes, I could do this.

Myself.

And, if that is the way to get to the next level about the horses, then that is what I need to do.

I don’t have any better ideas…

So, you all heard it.  He told me what to do.

Now, I just have to DO IT.

Just like I have to get back in shape, clean out all of my closets and ride Rojo…

Yowsa!!

What an opportunity – if I can make it happen!

I didn’t realize you had 34 videos on You Tube! It was fun to watch them.

Have you ever thought about RFD-TV as an outlet for your show? Good Luck with pursuing HorseandMan beyond the blog. Whatever you do, I’ll watch it!

Loved the repeat Grand Canyon. My half day trip trip definitely created memories that will always be with me!
