As many of you know, my sweet Nomar passed last week…
I posted a photo of him when I wrote my memorial (linked here).
In that memorial post was this photo of Nomar:

This photo of Nomar was posted in his memorial.
LOOK WHAT WAS ON MY DOORSTEP WHEN I RETURNED HOME!
I returned home today to find carnage on my front porch…
Clearly, the UPS guy had come and set a package there, as he always does.
–Our UPS guy is great and it isn’t his fault that he didn’t know that I now have demon destructor puppies…
This is what I saw:

Uh oh.
I had no idea what was in the package but I figured it was probably now not in very good condition…
So, I rummaged around in the pile and found – nothing.
It was as if we had been sent an empty box!
?
But, as I searched further, I saw it.
Still in pristine condition was a transferred onto canvas print of the photo of Nomar… just sitting there, looking up at me from the grass where it had been tossed.
I couldn’t believe it!

Tossed from the wreckage of that box was this lovely canvas transfer, mounted on a frame. Nomar was staring up at me from the grass a few feet away.
I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT!
I couldn’t believe that the contents of the package, this lovely photo on canvas, was intact!
And, I couldn’t believe that a reader had done this for me!
How amazingly sweet and unexpected!
The only problem is that I don’t know who to thank!
I furiously looked through all the bits to find the return address.
All I could find was the name “Tony” and the word, ‘Nevada’.
Tony from Nevada, THANK YOU!
Sending that sweet and lovely gift of Nomar was such a joy to see!
And so fitting because no other dog of ours has had such an elegant photo ~ and the fact that Nomar was so quiet and unsung… well, this is PERFECT.
I have hung it and I give him an “atta boy, Nomar” every time I pass him.
Nomar has been given the regard he deserved.

The derelict puppies who destroyed the package on my porch…
TONY IN NEVADA?
If you are Tony or you know Tony, please contact me so I can thank you/him properly.
I’m so sorry that my derelict puppies ripped up your name.
I love this gift. Love it.
Thank you from the core of my heart…
Nomar would be proud.

Big, sweet Nomar… sitting on his pillow, wondering what I might have needed at that moment. He had a point to his head when he was trying to figure something… “Who sent this lovely photo to my Mom?”

If this doesn’t make you believe Nomar is still around, nothing will! So glad someone did this for you and it was saved from destruction.
I didn’t know until now that your dear Nomar had passed. So sad. I am so sorry for your loss. What a sweet soul shines through in his photo.
So funny about the package destruction. Bless those rambunctious pups!
That was a thoughtful and lovely gesture, Tony in Nevada! :-)
