Cherry Pie came to us with her Mama (Plum Pudding) in October of 2023. Mama wasn’t even 4 and Cherry was about 5 months old. Both are registered Morgan horses, my fav.
How did it happen? Well, a kind breeder in Colorado was overwhelmed. She had too many horses and way too many babies in 2023. Cherry and Pudding were duplicates of bloodlines she already had so she was a bit desperate to find them homes.
I heard about it… and stepped in. Now they are here and thriving. Baby has grown incredibly since she arrived; She is almost taller than her child bride dam! As I write this, Baby turned 1 and Mama is just 4 years old.
So far, Cherry Pie is solid and unflappable. I have never, ever had a baby who was so chill and mello. I truly cannot believe it. In fact, when she first arrived, I was so perplexed by her unfoallike behavior, I had a full workup done. Nothing seemed to be wrong… so I fed her all the best supplements and healthy foods. A few months later, she ran for the first time. And then she put her head down and started exploring… without her dam or anyone else. She is remarkable.
I have high hopes for this Baby. I think she has a mind that I love.
