Fish, house plants and birds scare me. No, not the actual fish, house plants or birds, but the TAKING CARE OF the fish, house plants and birds that terrifies me. I am horrible with them. After I won my first goldfish at the OLM Festival ping pong ball toss when I was 7, I tried my best to be a good keeper. I read all the books and tended to him carefully, but he passed 3 weeks later.
I was horrified to see him dead in the bowl. My mother unceremoniously did away with him. Ugh.
I pretty much suck at house plants, too. I’ve never tried birds and I’m not willing after my horrid attempts at fishery and horticulture.
So, this amazing story of goldfish surgery had me mesmerized!
*ACTUALLY, the most endearing part of this story to me was that this tumor had effected George’s ability to swim properly and the other fish in the pond were bullying him… after the surgery, the bullying stopped!
