Well, once again, I’m not writing about what I was supposed to write about (Xmas stuff) because I wanted to bring you some news!
WE DID IT!!!!
We have reached our goal to help the town of Stagecoach who is banding together to save and house their wild horses who were baited illegally and sent to the feedlot!
(You can read their story here.)
The town is overjoyed that we have helped with the bail! They are furiously fencing a property they’ve secured…
AN UPDATE FROM THE SPOKES MAN AND WOMAN OF STAGECOACH
I wrote to my contacts from the town to tell them of our success… and here is what they said:
Him:
Fantastic job!
One of the volunteers took a hike on a public trail near the Stewart Conservation Camp yesterday and confirmed that Bandit and his group are still being held there. We were informed that due to the National Finals Rodeo and the sale yard being closed down for the holidays, that the horses will likely come up for sale in early January. There are likely to be 20 or more additional head with them, including the band with the foal that was dragged. I’ll post more as soon as I have confirmation as to the status of these animals.
HER:
OMG! thank you so very much! I am truly amazed and impressed. it just makes my heart sing to read this!
AUCTION
It appears the auction has been suspended until January. This is good and bad. Good because it gives the townspeople more time to get a larger area fenced. Bad because we cannot save them as soon as we want to.
So… we wait, with the townspeople keeping hawkeyes on these horses.
ONE XMASSY THING…
OK, I have to add this that I found today… I was looking around for horsey Xmas gifts and I laughed out loud when I saw this. Anyone with a pony will understand…
AND ANOTHER …
I was on ETSY looking for things to put on a saddle or things made out of saddle leather… and this came up! I didn’t even know that goats could wear packs!
AND ANOTHER!
I found this on ETSY when I was looking for unusual headstalls!
OK, I promise that tomorrow I will write about real Xmas stuff!
HORSE AND MAN is a blog in growth… if you like this, please pass it around!
