In case you haven’t met Natty (he’s 2 years old), here is a pic. This is my favorite photo of him because it shows exactly how he lives… always in motion. This boy never has 4 feet flat on the ground. His mother is a chocolate lab/McNab cross. Daddy is a German Shorthair Pointer.
THE COLLAR GPS SYSTEM (no affiliation)
As you have heard, sometimes my dogs escape and go on a walkabout. This is how we have met most of our neighbors.
It was suggested that we purchase GPS collars – and I thought that was a GREAT idea! So I did. This is the collar I purchased (no affiliation). Fi Smart Dog Collars.
WHAT I DIDN’T KNOW WAS A BENEFIT…STEP TRACKING!
What I didn’t know about this GPS collar is that it also tracks your dogs daily steps. And, it ranks your dog against other dogs on the system, other dogs of his breed and all other dogs in your state.
A few days after hooking up the collar and setting up the GPS, I noticed a few more tabs on the app, so when I was not busy, I started to explore.
HOLY MOLY! On January 18, he did 42,300 steps! On our property! Within 10 acres!
Natty is an amazing stepper! But of course he is! His best day so far was just short of 45K steps! OMG!
Our other dog consistently performs at half of what Natty does. It is as if she directs from the comfort of the porch, or something.
NATTY IS CONSISTENT AND AMAZING.
This boy always does at least 25K steps, even if he is confined to our little backyard. I don’t know how he does it… but he does.
Oh Natty! You delight us and drive us batty all at the same time.
IF YOU WANT OUR OWN, I THINK YOU GET A DISCOUNT (no affiliation)
If you want a collar, go to the website. Or you can use this scan! There is no affiliation, but I did find this page on my app. It makes your purchase less expensive because they give you the collar part – free! You still have to pay for the device. But it isn’t too expensive, especially for what you get.
