Oh my gosh… we have 8 (possibly 10) mini horses in Mississippi that have just been pulled from a meat auction (if you can imagine… just like my Dodger) and need a small amount to transport them all to So Cal Mini Horse Rescue!
We can help save 4 babies, a pregnant mare, a stallion (now gelding) and 2 dwarfs (and possibly 2 mini donkeys)!
We need only $1200 to bring the ALL to safety and new homes in CA! All donations are 100% tax deductible! Any amount adds up! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

These are the two dwarfs. Handyman is the palomino and we are calling this one, Blue, for now until we meet him.
THEIR STORY! – WE CAN GET THESE 8 TO SAFETY AND THEIR NEW HOMES!
These minis are in Mississippi – where the mini market is crashing. Breeding is indiscriminate – so many are homeless, unwanted and sent to auctions… and many dwarfs are created. The meat buyers don’t want them… The future is just awful for these mini horses.
But Rockin R Ranch and Rescue – and So Cal Mini Horse Rescue has teamed up to pull them from this horrible auction and send them home to Southern CA where adopters are more plentiful.
THE PREGNANT MARE AND HER SWEETHEART!
She was dumped, pregnant, at the auction. While in those deplorable conditions, she bonded with a stallion who protected her. Rockin R saw this brave stud (now gelding) and his new mare – and pulled them both.

This is Latte (temporary name until they meet him) who adopted the pregnant mare at the auction yard
THE FOUR BABIES!
PLEASE HELP GET THESE SWEET FACES TO SAFELY! IT WILL NOT TAKE MUCH TO CHANGE THEIR LIVES FOR THE BETTER, FOREVER!

I am purchasing a barn on May10 and would take them here in VT if the transport can be paid
Agreed.
Are you near Mississippi? Right now, they are still there…
One of my three minis (rescues, rehomed with me for the last two decades) is a little mare who has all the dwarf characteristics. I was advised by my vet when I brought these minis home to my farm that most minis who are dwarf have health and dental issues that usually spell short lives. However, my darling little mare is now 30 and going strong. Like most minis she has the most extraordinary temperament – kind, gentle and very smart with loads of personality. I am too far away from SoCal to fit their adoption criteria or I would apply to take a bonded pair of whatever combination of genders.
The reason miniature horses and minidonks end up in meat auctions is because the breeders think they can get rich breeding lots of them and it never works especially when they fail to register them or handle and train appropriately, don’t screen new owners carefully, and ask extortionate prices, all in chasing what they wrongly believe will be a fortune. They forget that the first rule of horse breeding is this: if you want to make a million dollars breeding horses start with two million.
Makes me so sad to see these little munchkins….ugh..
