Hubby is on his annual mountain biking trip.
In 2012, he broke his neck on this same trip.
I’m not saying that I’m nervous… but I do find myself keeping busy and I’m pretty sure Haagen Dazs is in my future.

This is Hubby in the hospital in Utah after he had spine surgery to put a titanium piece in his neck. They went in through the front.
FINALLY, THANK HORSEGODS, IT IS SLIGHTLY COOLER THESE DAYS!
Luckily, the weather is calming down here in Paso Robles… Lyme and heat don’t go well together. If I hang out in the sun, I end up having to take a loooong nap. So, I stay out of the sun. And, since we have hardly any shade here yet – and its hot in the shade anyway – I haven’t done much with my horses this summer.
But, now it is cooling down! So horses are on my list this weekend!
DODGER: So, on the Agenda for this weekend… I will take extra care of Dodger’s scratched cornea (I don’t know how he did it but I figure he rolled in the 5 acres and got a burr scratch.) Poor Dodger is showing his age this year. I cannot help but think it is because Slick is gone.
This is the first winter that he hasn’t grown an extreme coat. And, he just looks old now. It breaks my heart. Because of this, I’ve paneled off an area for him to eat in peace I want to make sure he is getting all of his supplements and meds – even though I think he is getting all of his supplements and meds already, I’m just making sure.
BG: BG needs a good grooming and another dose of the neckworm cure (double dose of Equimax – repeat in two weeks). She is much better, but I can see the telltale signs of the worms (goopy eye, lumpy sides) so I know they are not all gone.

BG was being shy this evening… but this is her and she has such a lovely, blonde mane. I need to spruce it up – as well as get after her neckworms again.
Missy Miss: I love this darling mare… I want to groom her and fuss with her. Since Mo is with her and just as darling, I will groom him, too, if he will let me.
AND THE OTHER STUFF…

He’s still here! We trimmed his feet last week. The reason his photo isn’t listed is because Sam is coming back. She was not happy in her new paradise so I’m exchanging her back for the baby. I am not able to afford taking on three new horses plus Sam, so since he is highly adoptable, the baby will go back to Lifesavers.
So, what happened to the little new guy? I haven’t seen any mention of him in a while and his photo isn’t with the others in the “crew”. Hope he’s ok!
