BARN SPIDERS.
I truly did a great cleanup job last month, clearing the barn of all spider webs so it showed well to potential renters.
I did. I really did. No webs at all. Finito. Nada. None.
And today, Webmania. I swear, they are everywhere. I’m beginning to think that the spiders are trying to catch ME. Webs on the door knobs, webs in the tack room, on the radio, on the feed room refrigerator door that I open every single day – twice a day, on all the stall doors, the waterers… I even found a huge web built overnight in the garage right across the threshold of the mandoor. That one, for sure, was going for the (big to them) little human.
If only I could hire people to work around here with the work ethic of the spiders.
I wish I had the energy of the spiders.
Amazing creatures, really.
If you don’t hear from me tomorrow, you’ll know that they won.
JUST AN ASIDE, BIG ‘OVER 50% OFF’ SALE
I just perused Noble Outfitter’s SALE tab and they have a bunch of equestrian garb for over 50% off! I love huge sales like that! I wanted you all to know.
AN UPDATE ON MY CREW, THE ‘SAN MIGUEL 10’!
Today I took a break from packing the garage and played with my horses. Isn’t that what it is all about – taking time to play with your four-leggers?! I always feel so much better after sticking my face into one of their necks. The fragrance is like Calgon.

Remi , as always, comes in for the close up and personal full body rub. She is such a lovely mare. I cannot believe that she is 19 this year!

Sweet Sam. She is the untouchable – except sometimes she lets me touch her face. Today was one of those days. So, I took advantage and put some salves on on her nose skin issue. Sam actually enjoys it so I wish she would just let me do it all the time! I also put fly ointment around her face and eyes so they would leave her alone for a while. She is such a sweet mare.

Oy. Mr. Rojo had to create a ‘dustup’. Here he pushes Gwen towards Sam and Remi. Remi is the boss of Gwen but Gwen is the boss of Sam but Sam is the boss of Remi – such a drama!

Remi came back around to me, knowing full well that Rojo wouldn’t come up close with me there. She knew she wouldn’t be pushed any more. Rojo stands there, wanting the attention for not wanting to give in to the little human.

Meanwhile, Gwen is pushing Sam down the hill… Note Annie and Norma in the background. Annie is huge.

Thank goodness the grass is finally all gone. This is Finn and he is a bit plump… They all had their feet done yesterday.

Beautiful Girl is rubbing her tail again. Argh. She is so itchy every summer and I’m sure it is an allergy. I have decided to give her another dose of Equimax for her neckworms. I think she needs another dose because her symptoms are all there.

Sweet Wrigley. He can never get enough food. He is like Jack Sprat in with his wife (Finn). Do you see Finn in the wee back? Every time I separate them, the fences come down. So, I think I will do that at the new place and use some hotwire. Finn needs to trim. Or, hopefully, he will get more exercise once life settles down for me.

Norma Jean has loose manure so she is in the barn tonight. I have given her a probiotic and stomach soothing dinner. I’ll keep her in until the diarrhea quits or I need to call the vet. Ever since Slick passed, she has not been herself. I’m sure she frets and is sad – but it hasn’t stopped her from eating. Still, I feel she is ‘off’.

The Queen Ms. Annie. Large and in charge. Tonight, she somehow got ahold of the cookie bucket – cleaned it out – and tossed it. She is big and beautiful. So much better than when she arrived in September.

Dodger is in his 30s now. I thought losing Slick would have been Dodger’s demise since they had been together for 23 years. But, oddly, Dodger seems so much more at peace. He is brighter and happier. I just don’t understand. Dodger was always the boss of the little herd of three. But, I’m guessing that Slick made him work really hard…

We are over halfway there! She was dropped off at a slaughter yard with a huge gash in her leg… she was very underweight with long feet and sharp teeth. It won’t take much to help her greatly! CLICK HERE to donate! Click here to read her story!

This mare was left at an auction yard with a horrible wound. Therefore she was rejection for slaughter sale. She languished at the facility without any aid. Imagine the flies! Luckily, Falcon Ridge Rescue rushed in to save her and start taking care of her severe wounds. They will feed and water her and bring her into their warm folds to recover.
