(Sorry that there was no blogpost yesterday – the area is having issues with a giant server due to vandalism – so my internet was not working properly.)

Have you heard of these twins?! They were born June 18, 2015 at Zenith Farms in Delaware.
They are extremely rare twin colts from a single placenta (may be identical). Their names are Majus and Majician.
Here is their FB page link.
I know many of you do not have FB, so I will attach a few of the pics and comments here.
JUNE 19:
Welcome to the page for these special boys! I set this up because there was a monster amount of interest in these special boys and my personal page was getting overwhelmed. Please follow along with the progress of these little miracles!!
FAQ: Did you have an ultrasound done?
A: of course! These sneaky boys shared a single placenta and did not show up as two babies!
FAQ: I know surviving twins are pretty rare, but why are these guys super rare?
a: these boys shared a single placenta, they may very well be identical twins, which is extraordinarily rare.
FAQ: Is the mare big?
A: no, I really have no idea how she carried these babies!
FAQ: Were they born very early?
A: they were only 11 days early, well done, mom!!
FAQ: What is their breeding?
A: They are by Majd Al Rabi (Magnum Chall x Davinci daughter) out of PA A-Magic Moment (x Odyssey SC)
FAQ: Will they be for sale?
A: provided they develop strong and normal, yes. As beautiful as they are, the husband says “no colts!”

OK all!! Now that we have a good, positive vet check, I feel more comfortable making some announcements! Not one, but TWO beautiful colts … By Majd Al Rabi (Magnum Chall x Davinci daughter) and out of PA A-Magic Moment (x Odyssey SC). Rabi was just named unanimous supreme Palestinian national champion stallion with the highest male score of the show and a filly of his was the highest filly score of the show! These guys are Majician ZF and Majus ZF only one showed up on the early sonogram because this was not a double ovulation, these precious angels are identical and shared a single placenta. Their legs have a lot of strengthening to do, but otherwise, they are perfect. We look forward to sharing photographs and progress on these beauties!!

Morning update on the twins! They were brought eyed and bushy tailed when I got out to feed today! They are trying to hop, rear and buck already. Their legs are already much stronger than yesterday. They are nursing very well still and are super personable. Mona is doing well, but would like to see her drinking more water- getting electrolyte paste this morning. They get to go out side this evening for about an hour, so hang tight for some up and about pics and maybe even some video!

Need some prayers all! As babies will, they got hit hard with the runs. They are on Biosponge, but the littler one took a beating. On my way to get some foal response and Mare’s match to try and get him to rally.
Majician is hanging in there. He has had probiotics, a vitamin boost, a Karo syrup on gums boost and a small dose of banamine to help with some gas discomfort and a very slight temperature. He finally started nursing some on his own, but it isn’t enough. Mom has been allowing us to milk her, so we are supplementing with syringe feeding to try and improve dehydration.
Majus is feeling the heat and runs too, but is perkier. He has also had some vitamin boost.
Both boys will get their second dose of Biosponge in a little bit.
Keep sending those prayers, Majician looks soooooo much better than he did around 3:00.

Call from the doctor this morning reports that they go through phases of looking great and then quite lethargic, which is what they were doing yesterday. They are fighting hard. They have been taken off Mona’s aside for the next 24 hours to try and empty the milk out of their tummies and kill out the bacteria. They are getting a glucose feeding to keep them nourished. Mona is able to see and touch them over the stall. This procedure is more expensive of course, but the best route to take to try and clear them out. They are running additional blood and fecal labs today. They will send some pictures later. I am overwhelmed by the out pouring of support already!!

Morning phone call… The boys are looking great, Mona is doing fantastic!! We are sticking with the plan to leave them over the weekend and bring them home on Monday. How exciting… Cannot wait to share tons of photos and video in the upcoming weeks of these amazing little boys!!
Getting the twins stall disinfected and ready for their return on Monday. To clarify, their complications miraculously had nothing to do with their being twins other than they were not as large as a normal foal. Their mother somehow picked up a bacterial infection that she passed to them. Smaller size combined with being 11 days early was just a bit much for their new little systems. In all my years, we’ve never had a bacterial infection, nor do either of the other two foals born here this year (one is 4 weeks old, the other 5 days old). Can’t wait for them to return and to share new photos and video!! For those in need of a major foal fix, you can go to our farm page (Zenith Farms) and see yesterday’s video of their big little brother (same sire) and our 4 week old filly. I’m trying to post the video now, so if it isn’t there, give it a minute These are both half Arabians, but still adorable!!!

Update number one for today! Photos of the boys’ last day at New Bolton and their amazing vet, Dr. Abraham Linton!! Their blood is not 100% normal yet, but almost there, we will have a local vet run another panel in a few days to make sure we are good going into the weekend and they will continue on their antibiotics for several more days. I can’t say a big enough thank you for the team at New Bolton, they were so professional and courteous!!
Update number two today – we all made it safely home!! Big thanks to Stephanie Micek for the ride and help getting them loaded/unloaded and settled in! It was a decent ride, and we were all thrilled to be home!!! Video coming next….
The boys enjoyed their 15 minutes of exercise this morning and mom finally got off the lead. She was very respectful of her babies and didn’t run like a fool. They will get another 15 minutes this evening to help their legs strengthen, then gradually longer and longer periods of time outdoors. On the hunt to find where I can get milk pellets around here to begin supplementing before they grow more and become a strain on mom.
HAVE A WONDERFUL LIFE, BOYS!
I so wonder if these two will be connected emotionally intuitively like human identical twins?… Very interesting. I hope they are purchased together.
