Well, last month, our Drop in the Bucket Fund recipients were the 19 Wild Horses who were caught on State land and therefore not protected by the BLM.
Luckily, some fine folks negotiated with the State (Nevada) to let them adopt these 3 separate family units (including 4 heavily pregnant mares) and rehome them.
This is where we came in. The Horse and Man Group raised $3000 which was exactly enough (with matching funds from a wonderful donor) to spring all 19 horses and provide for them for one month!
If you remember, the very first night that Roxanne was safe in her new home, she gave birth!
Well, now Bond’s mare had a lovely, safe birth on St. Patrick’s Day! They named the strong little filly, Patty!
And do you know what is very, very special about this photo? Dad is with Mom and baby.
That never happens in the Government holding facilities. Families are broken up into gender and age.
But, not with this group.
It brings a tear to my eye to see Bond standing over his little filly. This girl will grow up in an intact herd. She will learn valuable lessons from well learned adults. She will be protected and educated properly.
Hallelujah! Thank you, everyone!

Here is brand new, Patty! She was born safely in her new home on St. Patrick’s Day. As you can see in the photo, Bond (her sire) is standing behind her dam. That is so special!! The family unit contained. Wonderful. This girl will grow up right, thanks to you all.

Just as a refresher… this is Bond right before his capture. You can see his body behind this filly’s dam. Sire is watching over his new babe.

This is part of Bond’s family when they were being held by the State. I don’t think I see the Dam in this shot… she has white front and rear socks and I don’t see those here.
