As you all know, I have now become a great fan of the Prisoner Trained Saddle Horse Adoptions…
You can read my original reviews as well as subsequent reviews here. And, in case you don’t know, after attending several of these adoptions, I adopted!
Yup, my wonderful/smart/careful/adept/healthy/loving and devoted gelding, Rojo, came from the same BLM holding facility as this adoption.
TIME AND DEVOTION.
If you have ever wanted a mustang, this is a great opportunity…
The inmates work with these horses 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for 4 months. How many trainers do that?
And they come with their Coggins and health certificates. Easy. If you cannot drive them home that day, they will make arrangements to hold your new mount. Or, better yet, there are people there who will assist in temporarily relocating your new horse so that you can pick him up at your convenience.
This is a great program and I urge you to support it, if you can.
Oh, and they are always looking for donated tack. So, if you have tack that you’d like to pay it forward, please send it to (tell them HORSE AND MAN sent you!):
