Do you remember in April when we helped save 5 wild babies on the Virginia Range through LRTC?
Well, one of those babies was Goliath. He was born in the wild but could not stand. His mother was desperate. Onlookers called LRTC. It was dark when they reached Goliath and they were out of time to save Goliath unless they left right away. So they put him in their SUV and drove like crazy to bring him to the equine hospital.
Goliath made it through the night, so the LRTC team went back out to find his dam and bring her in as well… but they couldn’t find her.
So, Goliath became a beloved resident at LRTC where his severely contracted tendons and problematic growth spurts have weakened his pasterns. However, he has recovered Leaps and Bounds.
Goliath is a pure joy to all who work at LRTC. They describe him as delightful. He is smart, funny, goofy, willing, brave and a Baby Huey (huge). He has the run of the place and each day is a bright and shiny adventure! Every one of the rescuers has dozens of videos and numerous photos of Goliath at all times. They adore him. He has stolen ALL of their hearts.
Tonight, I asked Willis if he had any photos or videos of Goliath, and he immediately sent over 6 movies and dozens of pics.
Did I mention that Goliath is HUGE, hence his name (and some of his medical issues). He is only 7 months old but he is as large as a 2 year old colt!
Goliath is very well loved.
