LeRoy receipt, Be a TV Star! And MY EXPERIMENTS WITH SUPPLEMENTS!

FEBRUARY BUCKET FUND RECEIPT!

WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!  This is the most the Horse and Man Group has ever raised!  And we did it during the shortest month of they year!  The people at HAHS are so tickled they can hardly stand it!  They loved having a FaceBook page set up for LeRoy (linked here) and they couldn’t believe the response from everyone for their little broken pony.  I’ll keep up with him and give you periodic reports.

Many, many thanks for all the well wishes and donations.  Great Karma!

Yay for LeRoy!! Click to enlarge

MY BOX FROM OMEGA ALPHA CAME TODAY! (no affiliation)

OMG!  I am overwhelmed by the amount of products that arrived today for testing from Omega Alpha (herbal supplements).  Look at this booty!  I cannot believe it!  I feel like I need to go get a lab coat and clipboard… maybe some colored Sharpies and charts…

OMG! Look what came from Omega Alpha (for testing)!

There is so much here, I don’t know where to start!  Well, that’s not true.  I participated in their webinar last week and was able to speak directly to Omega Alpha’s nutritionist (www.OmegaAlpha.ca).
So, I have a pretty good idea on what I want to do.  Here is my list:

This is what I've decided to evaluate first...

Adren-X:  Norma (donkey).  She is insulin resistant, has a cresty neck, has foundered, and looks as if she has Cushings but tests negative.

Norma

Adren-X is for hormone and sugar balancing.  This should be very interesting…  If she loses her crest, loses some weight or sheds earlier this year, I will know it is working.

Biotic 8:  Remi (rescued BLM mare).  This stuff looks amazing!  It has a list of benefits a mile long and is a Prebiotic, Probiotic and Digestive Tract Formula.

I think Remi will do well on Biotic-8 because she is always stressed between meals.  She will chew the fence if I don’t give her snacks.

Remi

And, she is a difficult keeper.  She isn’t skinny but I have to feed her twice what I feed all the other horses.  So, I think she has stomach and absorption issues.  The Biotic 8 should give her what she needs to put in the good bacteria and help her heal.

If Biotic-8 doesn’t help her, I will try the Gastra-FX which is purely for stomach health.

Respi-Free:  Slick (19 year Shetland)

Slick wheezes when he eats – all year round.

Slick

He has been this way for as long as I’ve known him – 16 years.  Nothing has helped.  So, this will be a real challenge for Omega Alpha.

Respi-Free is a total respiratory formula.  It has a ton of interesting ingredients.  The only downside is that it requires you use a syringe to dose the horse.  Ugh.  Slick is not going to like that – and therefore neither am I…

Sinew-X:  Mama Tess (21 year old ex-show horse).

Pinny-Eared Tess

Tess is arthritic and just doesn’t move out like she used to.

Sinew-X is for performance horses.  But, it also says the it is a muscle, joint and ligament formula.  Well, she sure could use a boost in all of those departments.  So, I am going to try this on her and see if she limbers up any…

THIS JUST IN!!

The very skinny and wormy pregnant mini-mare from our Bucket Fund Junkyard 4 is in the foaling stall ready to give birth!!

She is on Mare Stare and here is the link.  (If you have a MAC like me, it won’t work for you, sadly.)  I’m not sure if I would even want to watch because it could go very badly for her.  Everyone at BHFER is on high alert for little Glory and her foal-to-be.  Crossing fingers.  She will need all the luck and help possible!

If you want to read about our Junkyard 4 Bucket Fund Charity for this month, the story is linked here.

If you’d like to donate to help poor Glory and all the medical bills, please click here.

Poor Glory... look at her spine! Someone sent this to me from the Mare Stare camera

The dog video was made for LA Animal Services which I work for. It’s absolutely correct your dog will think your cool :) Your even cooler when you adopt. Best luck to Glory, I will try to watch the mare stare, I hope they name Glory’s baby “Hallelujah” because that’s what I would have shouted once I left that junkyard.
