April A HORSE BOX goodies!

As you all know, I signed up to get a monthly grab bag of equine goodies from A HORSE BOX.

For a nominal fee, A Horse Box will send out to you a goodie box filled with approximately 5-7 items per month.  For me, this is pure joy since I love surprises, I love to get unexpected things in the mail and I love grab bags – always have.

APRIL’S A HORSE BOX CONTENTS

I had never tried any of this month’s contents, so I’m excited!

1)  PONY PODS:  The all natural bubble bath in a sponge made just for ponies and the little hands that wash them.  Available in five ponylicious scents!  Click here!

This sponge is part of a larger program, Mrs. Conn’s Bath Day,  of pre-soaped (flavored) sponges…  If I was in a barn or had kids, I’d probably subscribe.  This seems like a fun way to make bathing your horse a good time.  And, I like the different scents of sponges.

All kinds of fun scents!

2)  HAY WHERE’S THAT – It’s a  FUNGUS AMUNGUS

I have never tried this remedy, either.  It says, “Antimicrobial antifungal leg and body wash for use on fungus, rainrot and other skin irritations.

My neighbor’s donk has rainrot so she borrowed this.  I am going to use it on MT’s coronet band.  She doesn’t have any fungus, but it does get crusty from being wrapped all the time.  I’ll let you know if this helps, for sure!

3)  CAVALOR MASH AND MIX:  COMFORTING EASILY DIGESTIBLE MIX PACKED WITH VITAMINS & ELECTROLYTES

This is an interesting concept… electrolytes in feed.  I also like that this is considered a warm water mash – a comfort food.

Inside the box was also a coupon to enter a contest to win a 3lb bag…

*While checking the site, I saw that they have a IR/Cushings feed at 3% sugar and 5% starch.  It is called Fiber Force!  Good to know!  I’m going to try some with MT.

4)  DERMA-GEL:  Original Swiss formula:  Derma GeL “Animal Skin Care Tube Dispenser is an isotonic hydrogel made of high molecular weight polymers that promotes wound healing in all animal species: horses, dogs, cats, livestock, birds, reptiles and exotics. Derma GeL ensures a uniform porous barrier of protection against bacterial attack and foreign contaminants while maintaining skin moisture. No bandaging is required. Derma GeL promotes hair regrowth of the original color in affected area.”

I have never used this… but the case studies are very impressive.  I will try it on MT’s future abscesses to see if they heal more quickly.  Also, they gave us a discount coupon as well as the product…

Impressive.

Impressive.

5)  JOLLY GOODIES apple treats for horses.  All natural, 100% dehydrated apple.

I like that there is nothing but apples in this.  The ingredients say, “dehydrated apple”.  That’s it.

6)  COUPON FOR SADDLE LOCKERS.  Inside the A Horse Box was also a coupon for 10% off a SaddleLocker.  I don’t need this, but it is an interesting concept.

  1. Kelly Walentiny

    Dear Business Owner or Manager,
I am contacting you as a supporter of the Maricopa County 4-H Horse Program. 4-H is an excellent youth oriented organization, which has been in existence since 1902. The 4-H Horse Project Program has the largest individual project enrollment in Maricopa County. The goals of the 4-H Program in general are to teach youth members, ages 9-19, life skills necessary to function as an adult in society such as responsibility, decision making, speaking and the ability to set and achieve goals while helping to build self-confidence and esteem. Additional goals learned by a 4-H Horse Project member include maintaining a record book detailing every activity and event in which they participate, and identifies finances pertaining to their Horse including all expenses, income and inventory of the items they use in conjunction with this Project. Additional activities in which these members participate in include various educational seminars, clinics, and community service projects. These 4-H members work extremely hard all year caring, training and exhibiting their horse(s) in this great organization. The Maricopa County 4-H Horse Committee, and all of the individual Horse Project Clubs, are staffed by dedicated and hard working volunteer adults, who make a difference in 4-H members’ lives. The commitment level and dedication is impressive as many volunteers have no children of their own or whose children have grown out of this program.
The Annual Maricopa County 4-H Horse Show Finals, the GRAND FINALE competition for the year, will be held on April 28,29, 30, 2017. This show involves a lot of planning, participation and money, and the volunteers are willing to devote their time and financial resources to ensure this event is a memorable experience for all 4-H members who will be competing, but we need additional resource assistance and that is why you have been selected for me to contact.
As previously stated, the 4-H Program is supported totally by volunteerism and donations and receives little funding for program activities or events. We request help in our efforts to acknowledge these 4-Hers for a job well done by becoming a sponsor or donor of our 4-H Horse Show Finals. Following is a list of several support options available and any support is greatly appreciated.
We have enclosed a sponsor application which offers a sponsorship/donor package for any budget and hope that you will see the benefits to assisting in our efforts. The deadline to be included in the Annual Maricopa County 4-H Horse Show Finals Premium Book is March 18, 2017. However, we will gladly accept any and all donations beyond this date and will make every effort to include your name and contribution in an addendum insert for the Finals. We are happy to issue receipt or thank you letters for your donations if desired and requested.
We appreciate any support of the horse member participants in this endeavor as we not only reward members for hard work and skills, but promote the future of the Equine industry by supporting the youth of today! Please feel to contact Kelly Walentiny, 4-H Youth Development, Prize Chairman if you have any questions at (623) 810 3403.
    Sincerely,
The Maricopa County 4-H Horse Program Support Committee
