We, through The Keep Them Off the Truck Fund, helped save this MAMA AND BABY!

I have been negligent in my fundraising efforts for the Keep Them Off the Truck Fund… (excuses in my head but not worth saying) however, several of you donate monthly, no matter.  And those donations helped save this Mama and newborn baby who were in the Killpen in the Texas feedlot.

Can you imagine seeing this in a feedlot?!  Who did this to this mare?  How could they do this to this mare?

Mama and Baby we helped save.

THE HORSE MEAT INDUSTRY INFURIATES ME.

This horse meat industry creates rage inside of me.   Yes, there are rules, but not much oversight.

Really?!  A baby in a Killpen.  I couldn’t stand it.

So, I gathered your donations and we helped save this pair.  All Seated in a Barn was at the auction and fundraising to save as many as they could.  We donated to them who were on the ground, doing the dirty feedlot work and watching all these horses go to their doom. I have great respect for those who can endure a meat feedlot auction.

The good news is that many were saved this past weekend.

Mama and Baby are now in Outlaw Equine hospital in Texas.  Evidently, the baby suffered an accident in the pens and lost an eye.

No words.

This is our Pay Pal receipt for our group donation.

I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED!

Mama and baby are in the hospital.  They are also under quarantine.  I know they are receiving the best care – such a different life from where they came.

Baby hurt his eye while in the killpen.  The vets at Outlaw Equine Hospital are doing all they can to help him retain the eye.

Thank you for helping us help them!  As always, all donations to the Drop in the Bucket Fund or the Keep Them Off the Truck Fund are 100% tax deductible.  Thank you!

Here they are, Mama and Baby, safe at Outlaw Equine hospital. Baby injured his eye in the feedlot. The vets are doing everything possible to keep the eye.

After yesterday, let’s witness a MIRACLE! Fraternal Twins and BOTH survived!

The Keep Them Off The Truck Fund has supported ASIAB when they go to the horsemeat auction houses in Texas.

We were not a part of this particular rescue, however, LAST MONTH, ASIAB rescued this mare who was in the straight-to-slaughter pen.

Look at her.  (It is not true that healthy, young or pregnant horses don’t go to slaughter.  They do.  Often.)

This mare was enormous and clearly pregnant – or suffering a tumor the size of a baby.

A closeup of her belly in the feedlot…  Could you imagine this mare going to slaughter?!

THE MARE WAS SAVED ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS!

Thanks to ASIAB, many of the horses there were saved.  I think 45, but not exactly sure.  Anyway, this mare made it to safety… and within 30 days, gave birth… to TWINS!  And they are not identical.  One is tiny and red and one is big and probably a roan.  Both fillies.

AND THEY BOTH SURVIVED!  Amazing!

Wow!
