CANDI COOPER ONE-DAY LEFT OFFER and WILD HORSE, WILD RIDE CD!

Sunday, December 30th, 2012 | Filed under Handy Tips

First of all, I wanted to wish you all an INCREDIBLE New Year!

And, I want to apologize to all of my email readers who have been receiving the recent posts a day late.  Odd.  Not sure what is going on there with Feedburner (the software that sends mass emails from WordPress)… I think there is a hiccup and we are all messed up on time zones.

I any event, I’m working on it.  Hopefully, this email will greet you on time.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

CANDI COOPER DECEMBER SPECIAL! (no affiliation)

And, to celebrate, I wanted to let you know about Candi Cooper’s December Special – that only has today left….

Donate today to Candi’s rescue for a half-hour reading and she will give you an hour for the same rate!

Candi is the animal communicator that I wrote about here.

Anyway, I was very impressed when I spoke with Candi…  and when I read about her December special, I jumped at the chance to donate a half-hour fee to her rescue (tax deductible) and receive an hour reading!

Win Win!  The horses are supported and you get a tax deductible reading!

Click on image to go to Candi's website and donate to receive her 'special' - an hour for the price of a half hour!

WILD HORSE WILD RIDE CD! (no affiliation)

A reader told me that the movie I loved, WILD HORSE WILD RIDE, about the 100 day Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge, is now for sale!

Bummer that I missed this for Christmas…

Anyway, for those of you who have seen the movie, you will remember the brothers who were featured… Kris and Nik Kokal… you remember – they both were in love with their mustangs and they cried when the two were auctioned off.

That broke all of our hearts.

Well, those boys have since started the HorseTenders Mustang Foundation that rescues mustangs, trains them and also helps veterans with PTSD.  Similar to the Prison trained Mustang programs, veterans have an affinity to these horses who have also been displaced…

The HorseTenders Mustang Foundation is selling the movie, WILD HORSE WILD RIDE.  If you purchase the CD from them, it helps their Foundation.

Another Win-Win!

Click here to go to their website and purchase the CD   or just click around and learn about the Kokal family.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!

Sending love and hope to all of us… this has been a year of successes and losses – as usual.

For me, I am toasting the end of 2012, my lovely Dex and sweet Nomar and all of you for sharing each day with me.

I think of you all every day…  without you, my year would not have been as fulfilled.

I appreciate each moment you spend of your day with me.  I think about that…

BE SAFE and enjoy the very brand new, wide open, ready for you, New Year!

“Have you seen this mare?”: Re-Homing horses.

Re-homing horses (or any animal) is such a stressful time for those who really care about their pets.

Sometimes, there is just no other way…

I understand.

I have re-homed or sold a few of my horses over the years.  Sigh.

I do know where most of them are – I know they are OK and thriving.

But not all.

To be brutally honest, I don’t know about them all…

And I suffer that.

HOW TO RE-HOME A HORSE

I was trying to figure out a way to express this without sounding like Debbie Downer.

But truly, there are never any guarantees.  Even with contracts.

Unless you can see the horse often, you really don’t know.

There are no guarantees.

So, my best advice is to do your very best research (call up the local vets and farriers, clubs, riding associations and inquire) and then follow your instincts.

I guess that may sound frivolous to “follow your instincts” but it is how I feel.

Sometimes something perfect on paper just doesn’t feel right…

And other times, certain situations just feel right.

For me, I’ve sold horses under contract, I’ve leased horses, I’ve let friends borrow, I’ve donated a horse, I’ve sold horses through trainers…

And there is no pattern to the results except:  my gut feeling at the time was usually right.

You see, although I know about most of my previous horses, the ‘best situations’ didn’t always pan out.

I know how it feels to regret a sales decision.

So, I guess I am posting this so that all of you who are re-homing can think it through so you don’t suffer the pain of the owner noted below (and myself) …

And for all of you who are looking for a horse, well, you understand why the owner may ask so many ‘silly’ questions.

REGALIAN.

Click on the below photo to be brought to the story.

If any of you have seen this horse, you would be an angel to this very sorry and regretful owner who thought she was doing the best thing for this mare.

I’m sure we can all understand…
