BYE BYE EARRINGS AND HELLO TO ANNIE’S NEW SPONSOR!

Wahooooooo!

Annie has a Sponsor via my Robert Redford earrings!  (If you missed that post,  you can read it here.)

The earrings are spoken for, and so it Annie (for a good long while, anyway!).

Ya-Hooooo!  Yippee Kai ay!

Lucky Girl! She and her upcoming baby are covered!

THIS ARRIVED IN THE MAIL TODAY!

Well, the letter seemed simple enough on the outside… but I LOVE hand written mail, so I ripped it open immediately, careful not to harm the card inside.

Who sends hand written mail these days?!  I was very excited!  It had to be special!

And it was.

Inside held hand written words telling me that the earrings were sold and that Annie’s pregnancy, foal and aftercare would be ‘covered’.

Wow.

A huge act of trust and kindness from someone I have never met.

This honorable benefactor will happily wear the earrings I can no longer enjoy… and I will have ample resources to care for this unexpected treasure(s).

Perfect.

Thank you, Missygirl M.  Thank you.

The envelope seemed innocent enough… but I loved that it was yellow!

This was the card cover…

And the lovely message…

When one door closes, another opens… even if it is 15 years later… ;)

AN ANNIE UPDATE! Via video!! Come pet her with me!

As most of you know, most of the time it is just me here.   So, handling the camera while I do stuff with the horses is an acquired art – that I haven’t quite acquired, yet.

But, I tried today… I wanted you all to hear Annie’s quirky nicker and to watch her kind eye.  I also wanted you to see how easy she is and how kind.  I think this mare is very, very sweet.  She isn’t easy to blowup or startle.  Annie is a solid gal.  Feet on the ground.  Kind.  Willing.

I feel lucky that she’s here.

As far as measuring, she seems really tall to me.   I did my best to tape her and I think she is only 16h.  Not sure.  Maybe 16.1h.  I would have sworn she was at least 16.3 or 17h.  But, I’m short so maybe they all look tall to me.  Dunno.  I do have a stick, which is much more accurate, but she wasn’t OK with it so I used a tape.

Just an fyi… after I stopped the video, I went and got my limbers.  As I was trimming the tree branches, she was nibbling my scalp.  When I’d trim a branch over her head, the branch would fall right on her back, neck or head – and she wouldn’t flinch.  Solid.  Annie is a lovely mare, for sure.
