These stories are bittersweet. So happy for those we save… and sad for those who continued on. There were 400 equines at last weekend’s sale at Bowie, TX. 400. Four hundred.
All Seated in the Barn asked if we could help. I told them that we had $1000 and who could we save?… She sent these pics:
THEIR STORIES – Mama Victoria and her baby, Pixie!
I don’t know anything more because the sale ended yesterday and everyone is exhausted and working out details while traveling to CA from TX.
But, clearly Mama has suffered the flop-over crest that many donkeys have who are fed too much rich (horse) food. Ethel Merdonk has the same issue. Once it is flopped, there is nothing anyone can do to reverse it. Often times laminitis and founder follow this condition. So a watchful eye on this girl’s feed will be necessary.
When I hear more, I will let you all know. But for now, FEEL GOOD! These two are safe!
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!
YOU, Horse and Man readers and donors, did this. Your donations and monthly donations filled this bucket for these two lucky donkeys.

Thanks for letting me know. I’m going to fix it and just do it the old way.
I pulled up on your IMG 834. I had to scroll the bottom line where it shows how many seconds there. Was able to see the donkeys so glad to have so much room.
Tried using Google Chrome. Still no pix. Cleared cache twice. That didn’t work, either. No storm today, thank goodness, bright sun no wind. No worries. Maybe something will show up in the coming days.
Maybe use a different browser? It must have been the storm…
Photos? (Maybe my naughty computer which does not like local storms not one bit). Looking forward to the story because….donkeys!
