THIS IS WHAT YOU DID YESTERDAY… FEEL VERY, VERY GOOD ABOUT YOURSELVES. YOU SAVED 3 BEAUTIFUL LIVES. SEE THEM ARRIVE TO SAFETY.

You all were amazing yesterday.

Some donated, some prayed, some forwarded the call for help.  Thank you.

Now, please reap and feel good about yourself and the noble lives spared.

Three innocent BLM donkeys were saved in the most caring and miraculous way.  Not only did you pay their bail, you provided their transportation to Skydog Sanctuary in Malibu and you provided their medical attention as well.  Wow.

Good Humans.  Good to know.  Lovely.  Righting the wrong.

HERE THEY ARE, ARRIVING AT SKYDOG from the Auction Yard

From Skydog:

Its a very good day at Skydog Sanctuary. YOU GUYS WERE AMAZING. We rarely have a last minute emergency fundraiser but wow you stepped when we found three donkeys at auction with very little time to save them. We managed to raise the bail and cover the haul and these three little souls were picked up this morning from the livestock auction thanks to some very early and amazing morning donations. And here they are. They were very happy to see two flakes of hay when they climbed out of the trailer as they are skinny and hungry. Two boys and a girl and any name suggestions are welcome. I can only read the brand on one of the donkeys and she is eleven so most likely they are all about that age but we shall see. I have petted, scratched and tickled every single one of them and am pretty sure that with some patience and love and trust they will turn out to be halter broke. We unloaded them in a smaller barn up top to see if we can halter them and lead them down to the big corral below so they can get busy eating all the brush down there and having a feast. They are on the skinny side so we may not need brush clearance this year ? I love all three of them already and am so grateful for all the people who stepped up and gave a tiny amount or larger donations – we are just so happy to be able to give these beautiful happy souls a new home and a long and happy life. We mainly rescue mustangs but we never forget that herds of wild donkeys like the ones two of these came from are becoming smaller and smaller and there may be a time soon where donkeys in the wild are a thing of the past. I once went to Arizona and in the desert in the cool nights you can hear the wild donkeys calling to each other as they move around. Its an incredible sound and I hope that their herd managements don’t get zeroed out. I read somewhere that there are less than 8000 donkeys left in the wild and that if it was another species that would make them endangered which really makes you think. Add to that the increasing trade in donkey hides in china and these beautiful animals are already facing an uncertain future. But not these three. They are home xx

First head peeks out of the trailer.

A brave step out of the trailer.

A scratch from the nice human…

Greeting the shy one

Shy but happy to eat…

Progress!

What beauties.

Wise soul.

Skinny, a little dirty… but home sweet home.
