Humbly I come to you, asking for help with Mama Tess’ treatment. Although she looks good, her condition is very critical.
Today, DR E called Rood and Riddle (They are the ones who saved Rachel Alexandra). Their decision was to (hopefully) stabilize the drainage and infection in her soles with 24/7 intensive care and then to consider her for stem cell therapy…
The fees are quite a bit more than I can handle on my own…
I’m not willing to let her go without a fight. I will do my best to move mountains if there is a way to fix her.
I wouldn’t ask for help if I didn’t absolutely need it.
I will be forever grateful…
Saving this girl means so much to me – not only for her, but for all the horses out there. It was her illness that started this blog. If we cure her, I will stand on a mountain and shout to the world how we did it…holding her healthy hooves in mine.

What goes around, comes around. Dawn has been instrumental in saving so many animals in need. If people don’t want to donate, don’t. There are plenty of us who will donate what we can. If anyone is thinking of criticizing, don’t. Dawn has the platform to raise the money – so more power to her. Good luck Tess! I am hoping for total recovery!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To Dawn & Mama Tess – Happy to help with this cause – as every horse should receive the benefit of updated medical care when possible. I also believe that this helps veterinarians learn more about the disease process and benefits future horses suffering from similar ailments. Best wishes and lots of positive energy are being sent your way!
BTW – I’m sure Dawn will receive some flack for asking for help – but I think her asking shows an incredible amount of courage and trust in her readership. Asking for help is not an easy task and can be misconstrued by some people. However, with all the help Dawn has found for others, I hope people will step up and help her when she most needs it. I only wish I had more to give.
