You probably remember this photo… poor Ash had a significant tear in his intestinal wall.
You can read the original story here.
HERE ARE OUR BUCKET FUND RECEIPTS FOR OUR DONATION TOWARDS HIS SURGERY
You donations came in over 2 days (THANK YOU!), but I wanted the hospital to know that the procedure would be funded, so I gave them funds immediately, and then again the next day which was the day of the surgery. Phew! We made the goal before the surgery started. WONDERFUL. Thank you!!
UPDATE ON ASH
He did great! The surgery went longer than expected and there was more damage than the vet expected… but Ash made it!
Now he’s back home at Baby Blue Bonnet Equine Rescue.
They have to keep him isolated and in a small stall – so that he doesn’t rupture any stitches. After another 2 weeks, he is cleared to have light outside time. There is fluid still draining from his abdomen, but he is otherwise doing very well!
I’ve asked for photos of his belly post-op. I will post those when I they arrive.
A NOTE FROM BABY BLUEBONNET EQUINE RESCUE
THANK YOU ALL! AN EMERGENCY – RECKONED. THANK YOU!
