Our boy is all cleaned up and starting to gain weight. Even so, you can see here how stunted and skinny he really is…
I’ve been told that he is very vocal with “the ladies” at the barn. So, he will be gelded as soon as he is strong enough.

TROUBADOUR! – 2 weeks later!

Look how stunted he is for a 4 year-old… That patch on his shoulder is his new ID for his future should he be adopted.

Skinny and stunted – but very handsome and alert… our Troubadour! I was told that he is really liking the ladies in the barn. So, he will be gelded as soon as he is strong enough.
FREEZE BRAND – WHY HEART OF PHOENIX DOES THIS.
I asked about the brand and this was the response. Seems smart!
When adopted out, we keep first rights on the horse, so it helps prevent an adopter from ever thinking they could sell outside of giving the horse back to us, but if they did, if the horse is advertised for sale, the brand is well known, so whether it be a sales ad, private purchase or auction, it will likely end up resulting in us being notified. when it heals, it looks like this (this is a previous HOP horse that kind of reminds me of True named Alfie from years ago)

This is a different horse who was rescued by Heart of Phoenix a while back. This is what the freeze brand looks like.
JUST A REMINDER…
These photos show where Troubadour was living… before Heart of Phoenix saved him.
