Yay! I love updates!
LILA!
Let’s start with Lila. Lila was our Bucket Fund filly donk from November, 2013. She had cancer all around her right eye which spread wildly after a botched surgery. Do you remember? I found her when she was at UC Davis. You can read her original story here.
Well…. she is still at UC Davis… but she is finally getting better! The vets at UC Davis have been tireless with their Cisplatin bead treatment. What started out as a 4 treatments plan has gone on and on and on. They didn’t quit. And look at the results!
Here she is now, not finished with treatment, but she is responding!
UPDATE ON ARIA!
Aria was our May Bucket Fund Filly. She had horribly contracted tendons that weren’t corrected when she was first born. You can read her story here.
And here she is today, 4 months after wearing her DynaSplint! Sure, she still has a bit of a correction to go, but a massive difference to her quality of life! Very impressive!
- She still has a bit of a correction left, but a massive improvement! She can run and play now, like a regular filly!
UPDATE ON BELLA THE BABY BURRO!
Baby Bella the Burro lost her rear leg to frostbite at 3 months old. Bella was our February 2014 Bucket Fund baby. You can read her story here.
Thanks to Hanger, she has had a few devices and is doing very, very well!
And LOOK at her today!! Happy and healthy and having no issues getting around! A true ambassador for amputees! I did see a video of her scampering around and she seems just like any other young equine. No issues here!
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST… LET’S SEE HOW BROTHER IS DOING!
Brother is this month’s Bucket Fund Gelding. You can read his story here.
These images are difficult to forget…
And now, here he is – 4 weeks after intake! It has been a roller coaster, but so far, so good!

It may not look like much, but the difference in his overall health is huge – it is important to go slowly when re-feeding.

Dawn,
Thank you so much for all the updates !
It’s so nice to see how our money is spent and all the good it has done for the love of horses and donkeys.
Thank you for all your hard work!
