Every year, I like to highlight a few equine 501c3 charities. True non-profits. People who do it because they are compelled to help horses. It is a passion.
This year, I’ve chosen Montgomery Creek Ranch, Wild Horse Connection and our own KEEP THEM OFF OF THE TRUCK Bucket Fund.
Montgomery Creek Ranch
Montgomery Creek Ranch keeps a low profile, but they do GREAT work for the wild horse. What I love about them is that they save wild horses, give them an incredible landscape to thrive in the wild, bring the horses in for annual care – and they also find a few horses each year who seem like they’d like to be with people. Those horses are gently and slowly trained to be adopted into forever homes. MCR does a great job and rarely asks for donations.
This year, they are asking for donations… Montgomery Creek Ranch has a match sponsor offering to double any donations! This is a great opportunity to double your donation for non-profit with excellent integrity.

WILD HORSE CONNECTION
Wild Horse Connection is totally volunteer run and they are outstanding in mustang welfare and rescue. They work with the Tactical Large Animal Rescue and bring in sick and injured wild horses from foals to stallions. Their dedication is above and beyond. But they struggle… and although the Horse and Man Foundation has helped them over the years to purchase equipment and pay medical costs on injured horses – this year has been particularly rough for donations.

THE “KEEP THEM OFF THE TRUCK” FUND.
This month, I was so sickened by the amount of horses shipping straight to slaughter that I just couldn’t stand it anymore and had to develop a 24/7 fund to help. People are on the ground, attending these auctions, trying to save lives by finding homes and bail money, vets, quarantine, medications… this happens every week somewhere. I just couldn’t stand not having the money at the ready when rescues called me desperately for funds.
So, I have organized, through our Horse and Man Foundation, Inc (a 501c3 Non-Profit), a new fund that is constant and ongoing. You can donate at any time and those funds will be held for the next emergency rescue of horses in the slaughter pipeline.
Wouldn’t it be great to buy an entire truckload of deserving equines (like the donkeys pictured… ) and give them their lives back?! Wouldn’t it be so rewarding to prove to them that life can be safe and lovely?! Wouldn’t it be great to give them back their hope and dignity…
