Once again, you wonderful readers have helped the HORSE AND MAN GROUP reach their goal for September ’13! Now, the Least Resistance Training Team can support trainer Fred during the 6 month Pilot Program to train 8 Mustangs per month – so they will be eligible for successful adoption!
(Yes, it is a shame that any Mustangs are in captivity… but if you have ever seen the BLM holding facilities, you would immediately grab this program and run as many of those poor souls through it as possible. They might be give food/water every day, but they are living like prisoners in small, cramped paddocks. If the BLM ever releases any of these horses back into the Wild – Hooray! – but until then, let’s help those who languish after being captured.)
Here are the receipts!
We were actually a bit short… as the goal was $3000 and we had raised $2520. So, we found a corporation that offered matching funds and were able to secure another $1000 above and beyond the $2520.
So, our grand total was $3520! So much the better!

This is the Pay Pal receipt for the remaining balance after the first $1000 went into a program of matching funds.
RIDING WAREHOUSE CHECK!
Here is our September check from Riding Warehouse! Yup, not as much as the last two months but still very good and very helpful. Thank you!
MAMA TESS TINY UPDATE!
MT is feeling much better! Those abscesses are awful. But, she’s through the worst part and is now happily standing on her Theraplate again. And cruising around the barn, visiting Gwen’s stall when Gwen is out – making sure to eat any scrap that Gwen may have left behind.
The folks at Theraplate sent two ramps so that she could get on and off more easily. That was so nice!

MT is back on her Theraplate! The kind people there sent two ramps so that she could get on and off more easily. Wow! So nice!

It is sooooooo good to have her up and around again. Abscesses are a part of the healing process but can be very scary – and damaging. I hope we are able to keep the abscesses at bay as we move forward – by bringing more bloodflow to the hoof via the Theraplate and medications/foods. (Yes, she is still wearing her Hoof Cinches!)
HORSE AND MAN is a blog in growth… if you like this, please pass it around!

Sort of… There was a match in play if we raised $3000. Since we hadn’t quite raised $3000 and the end of the month was looming, we found our own match contributor for $1000. So, we raised OVER $3000 – but the original match was topped at $3000. So, we are over our goal! But, not quite at $7000… more like $6500. But, still over our goal!
So there was someone who was going to match the total raised, right? Does that mean over $7,000 went to this project? Hoping so, that would be seven months of pay for Fred. And yay for Mama Tess, she’s a fighter for sure. :)
