As most of you probably already know, our October Bucket Fund mare, Yanaha, passed a week ago.

Yanaha had her genitals cut away from her body and if that wasn’t bad enough, she was then left in a field for 3 weeks.  Although this brave mare put up a valiant fight, the internal abscesses coupled with the severed nerves in her leg and anus finally became too much for her battered body and she was allowed to cross.

The Horse and Man Group went wild trying to help this mare.  So many of you roared your outrage to officials and spread Yanaha’s story far and wide.  Thank you.  It was all a great help – shining a light on this mare’s plight so she didn’t die in vain.

The Horse and Man Group was able to raise $2695 towards her vet bills.

All of your support helped Michelle from Rockport Horse Rescue greatly.  Having so many strangers rally behind this mare enabled her caregivers to keep up the fight, day and night.  And, they are still fighting for Yanaha…  They will not let this horrible deed go unpunished.

Because Rockport Horse Rescue is not yet a 501c3 Non-profit organization, we sent our donation directly to the veterinarians who cared for Yanaha.
