For the March Bucket Fund, we all pitched in to help save the 8 young Bachelors and 1 lone Stallion who were captured by the Department of Agriculture on Rhodes Road – and the townspeople of Steamboat Valley wanted them back!
Luckily, the town was able to rally and raise the funds to purchase these boys as well as find temporary housing.
All of them will receive Good Citizenship lessons by Mustang professionals. Those who are deemed suitable and eager will find new homes amongst the humans who fought for them.
Our donation will go towards feed and welfare for these boys. Yay!!
Their RELEASE STORY coming soon (just waiting on photos)!
- On the left is when the Bachelor Band of 8 was free, in the middle is their jail time (look how beautiful and healthy) and on the right is a preview of the RELEASE, which I will write about this week!
UPDATE ON BELLA BABY MINI DONKEY WITH THE PROSTHETIC LEG!
Remember our February Bucket Fund? Bella Baby Donkey had frostbite on her rear leg and it couldn’t be saved. So, it was amputated.
The Horse and Man Group paid for almost the entire prosthetic! Yay!
(As an aside, Hanger made the prosthetic – the same company that created the fin for the dolphin immortalized in the movie, “A Dolphin Tale”.)
Anyway, the cutest part is that they made it PINK POLKA DOTS!! LOVE THAT! Perfect for a baby girl donk…
Bella made the trip home very easily in her owner’s car.
If you’d like to follow Bella on FB, here is her page. And here is her website.

This is Summer Raffo on one of her beautiful Arabians… she was lost in the mudslide. Summer leaves her 19 horses – Summer’s horses are our April Bucket Fund. Click image to help!
