JANUARY BUCKET FUND RECEIPTS and A Mama Tess Update!

ELSA & ANNA

As you all know, we lost Elsa… but Anna still lives on.

There is a petition going around to create legislation so that the abuses put upon Elsa would not go unpunished in the future:  http://www.change.org/petitions/state-sen-gene-davis-please-create-and-pass-elsa-s-law-for-non-utah-signers-only#share

XENA THE FIGHTER

Xena is doing very well… you can follow her progress on her FB page linked here!

You can read Xena’s story here.

Don’t worry that we raised a smaller amount than needed – because Xena’s GO FUND ME account did very well.  So, I think they are doing well right now.

MAMA TESS UPDATE – SUPERBOWL SUNDAY!

Dr. Errico called this morning and said that Tess was doing very well today… much better than yesterday.  He is giving her IV Bute and that seems to have taken the nasty edge off of the bone pain.

DR said that when he changed her bandage this morning, the bone was now totally covered by tissue and that everything looked and smelled fine (very important).  He was pleased.  DR has changed her bandage daily and every time he has said that her healing is right on schedule.

Phew!

MT was bright and eager to eat and hang out!

I didn’t want to bring her home until she had had 3 limb perfusions of direct antibiotics and her exposed bone was covered.  The hospital agreed.  Best to make sure she had 24/7 supervision until her foot was stable.

Right now, we are thinking I will bring her home Tues or Wed.

Anyway, today when I visited her (before the Game started), Tess was very bright and attentive.  She loves the window in this stall.  It is like Horsey TV…  MT watches all the hustle and bustle of the hospital and seems to be constantly engaged with it all.

Yay!

The techs even hung her feed net below her Horsey TV window so she could eat while she watched.  I loved that!

This is MT looking out her Horsey TV window. It looks out over the hustle and bustle of the hospital. She loved it! They even hung her feedbag below it so she could watch at all times!

MAMA TESS VIDEO!

As you will see, MT was following me all around her stall because I had her lunch in a baggie.  However, I didn’t want Tess to stress herself so I only took one video and it wasn’t quite in focus.  But, you’ll get the idea… she was pivoting on her bad foot!!!!

I have been following you for some time and every day look forward to your news. So pleased the MT is doing so well. I am not good at computers but am trying to post you on to Janet at Rosebank Stud Manchester, England (Janet Currey). She is a wonderful knowledgable lady who has some superlative Arabian bloodlines. Also a lot of rescues and veterans.
Keep up the work. I feel like a voyeur for all I have now are some chickens, but I did hatch them and they are free range. I wish that they didn’t poop outside my back door.
    Regards,

GO MAMA TESS!!! I just got caught up on everything, and I’m SO glad MT had the surgery and seems to be recovering well. Your “Founder Warrior” vet isn’t the only warrior in this fight – you and MT together are battling this with everything you’ve got! Your band of faithful readers is sending lots of good healing thoughts, too.
