It is NurseMare foal season… and the folks of Last Chance Corral have been saving these babies successfully for several years. Let’s help them gear up and save as many as possible! They need funds to purchase the babies as well as funds for milk replacer (very expensive…) and all the other needs of sickly newborns that have been snatched from their Mothers at very, very unfairly young ages.
WHAT IS A NURSE MARE FOAL?
A nurse mare foal is the by-product of creating a nurse mare. A nurse mare is an equine wet nurse. Nurse mares are needed to nurse foals who’s natural mother has been taken away to be re-bred. The newly orphaned “more valuable” foal is moved onto the nurse mare. The original foal of the nurse mare is outta luck.
PEOPLE SAY…
People say that this doesn’t happen. I think that argument would come as a surprise to the well established rescue facilities that take as many of these foals as they can afford — every foaling season.
Also, you might want to reconsider purchasing any Cordovan Leather products…

Last Chance Corral is set up to take care of these often very sickly babies… who were snatched from their mothers at very, very young ages.
MY BLOOD BOILS
It makes my blood boil to see innocent babies abandoned, sent to slaughter (which is supposed to be illegal) or brought into this world to be left out of it. So, today, I want to help LAST CHANCE CORRAL. It isn’t easy caring for foals that are in shock and sickly, have just been wrenched from their Mothers, have not had any care, and have just traveled miles in a trailer after being smashed into holding pens.
It breaks my heart to see these man-made babies thrown out as if they were trash.
WHAT CAN WE DO?
Fill the coffers so they can save as many babies as possible!
We can fill the coffers of Last Chance Corral! They’ve brought in the very first small batch of 4 new babies…. (see below) And many more will soon be in the wings, waiting for their chance at survival!
Please, any amount will help in this huge effort to save these innocent babies!
Or, if you cannot adopt and want to something other than donate, here is information on other ways to help.

Another motherless baby at 2 days old. Let’s help LCC take care of this baby and any other baby they can possibly help!

THIS BOY IS SICK! They go down fast. We can help LCC prepare to care for these babies and bring them back to health and a forever home – instead of being tossed away.

ALL PROCEEDS SUPPORT THE BUCKET FUND!

Why don’t they use the surrogate made for the pregnancy , birthing and nursing/raising of the prize foal instead of making a “disposable” foal?
Judith: There are instructions and links inside of the blog that will
help you with adoptions. Good luck!
If these are up for adoption I would be interested?????? We have an old mare 32 years old and 11 acres in Nebraska. I tried years ago to breed the mare but she had a still born (Vet error). I would be happy to take a little guy or girl on. I also will try to get back up on this page so I can donate something.
