Finally.
Isn’t it nice to know that the animal abusers in this case are being brought before the Danbury Superior Court.
Yup. In Connecticut, they are all over animal abusers.
IN CONNECTICUT, THEY CROSS REFERENCE ANIMAL ABUSE CASES AND CHILD ABUSE CASES!
In fact in Connecticut, they now cross reference Animal Abuse Cases with Child Abuse Cases. Each Department notifies the other of known abusers because they believe there is a correlation.
Yay! Less red tape and real action!
THE FACILITY – A Great collaboration between DoA and DoC!
“Second Chance Large Animal Rehabilitation Facility” is the new home of Chinook and Cheyenne.
What I love about this is that the Connecticut Dept of Agriculture had a need to house large animals seized in animal cruelty situations. So, they put their heads together and contacted the York Correctional Facility in Niantic.
Creative thinking – helping the animals and helping the inmates – became a joint venture on a shoe string budget between the Dept of AG and the Dept of Corrections.
A barn was erected plus fencing and whatever else was needed to bring in almost any kind of farm animal.
The inmates covet this job of helping animals… and the animals are given great, supervised care by the inmates who appreciate the time spent with the animals and always come away better for the experience.
Win-Win.

If you missed Monday’s post – these girls were so weak, they had to be lifted into the trailers… Our late August Bucket Fund Mares!

EVERY DROP COUNTS – LET’S HELP THESE GOOD PEOPLE WIN THE FIGHT!
I know it is tough to give at the end of the month… and, it is no fault of these mares or the good people fighting for them – just bad timing on their seizure date and my learning about it all.
But, any Starbucks money or seat change is GREATLY APPRECIATED. It all adds up to help rehab these girls and keep these kinds of programs open – to fight the good fight for the animals.
We only have a few more days to reach our goal.
Thank you in advance!
