On Friday not only was there justice for Yanaha (read here), but our Bucket Fund horses from September, the Morgan Hill 50, were finally removed and the owner charged with Federal Animal Cruelty.
If you’d like to read about their ordeal, here are two blogposts. Original Story and the Update.
If you recall, Equine Rescue Center went to the owner, prepared to buy all the horses, but the prices were so high, she could only buy 10. Of those 10, one was a colt who was in horrible colic. She was demanded to pay $2500 for him (who was on the ground) and she did. Just to get him out of there. He died that night.
Digusting story, really. Greed and pleading ignorance to get away with it for longer…
