WOWEE!! You were all so generous! We really, really helped Louisiana Horse Rescue Association with the poor, starved horses from the town of Many.
(In case you missed this very sad story, please click here.)
I just spoke with Sunny from LHRA and she is elated that this very wonderful chunk of money will fill their coffer as they owe a tremendous amount to their vets for saving Jewel, the mares and the very, sick and skinny yearlings (I wrote about Jitterbug, a yearling, here…).
LHRA HEROES!
A job well done by the brave volunteers of LHRA. There is no way that I would have had the stomach or the temerity to hold my tongue (or fists) if I entered that hideous site to rescue these poor horses. Yet, they did. These folks pushed through all the work to help in the seizure and then they actually physically went to the site to document all of the sick, dying and deceased horses. These angels triaged all the surviving horses and found immediate vet care and foster homes.
Of the 48 horses who made it out alive, all making great progress.
So, feel very good about every nickel donated because you have made a huge difference in the lives of these horses by supporting the humans there who are fighting the good fight.
IN CASE YOU FORGOT… this is why we give.
These are the yearlings who survived and grew over the last 30 days… Our money will go to help support them as well as Baby Jewel.
Thank you all for turning their lives around!
You can follow these stories on the LHRA FB page linked here.

And of course, Baby Jewel - the only womb survivor. Born at only 40lbs, this little filly is still wearing her dog blanket and thriving!

WOW….just WOW. What wonderful things that happen when wonderful people get involved.
I’d check your blog more often but I end up crying my makeup off when I’m supposed to go to work…
WOW. What a wonderful blog this is, and what a wonderful group of people who follow it. Fantastic news of the help given to these horses!
