EMERGENCY BUCKET FUND – HELP WILD MUSTANG BABIES WHO ARE SUFFERING IMMEDIATE HEAT EXPOSURE AND DEHYDRATION DURING THIS HEAT WAVE! – It won’t take much!

I was called upon by Least Resistance Training Concepts.  They are a tireless team of knowledgeable volunteers who work in the field to help wild horses in desperate need.

The Horse and Man Group, through previous Bucket Funds, has successfully helped LRTC acquire equine emergency equipemtn (sleds, harnesses, slings…)  – Our donations have enabled LRTC to purchase amazing and life saving equipment for horses.

These guys are determined and excellent in their knowledge and dedication.

URGENT!  SOME FOALS AND OLDER HORSES CANNOT MAKE IT TO WATER IN THIS HEAT…

Today’s call was URGENT.  Some of the youngest and oldest wild horses are perishing in this heat wave.  LRTC needs immediate funding to stock up on supplemental and advanced heat reducing equipment right away!

This is a foal who was down - they pulled him off of the range to help.

THE STORY

I received this email from LRTC:

This year we are seeing an increase in incidents involving (wild) range horses that are suffering from heat and dehydration. There are several water sources on the range however in most areas these sources are miles apart and the horses travel long distances between where they water and where they can find good grass. (…) A foal or an older horse will become debilitated from the effects of dehydration, heat exhaustion, or worse. The very young foals are the most vulnerable.

We respond to these incidents any time that suffering horses are reported. Having the ability to deliver oxygen can help keep seriously distressed animals viable until they can be properly cooled and rehydrated. We use kits provided by an organization named “Air For Paws” that are designed to deliver oxygen therapy to animals. They work exceptionally well, however we have discovered through experience that we need to improve the equipment we use to supply oxygen to these Air For Paws units when responding to foal emergencies!

PLEASE LET’S HELP THEM QUICKLY PURCHASE NEW EQUIPMENT SO THEY DON’T LOSE ANY MORE FOALS IN DISTRESS!  IF LRTC REACHES THESE FOALS ON THE RANGE, THEY WANT TO SAVE THEM! – The additional needed equipment can be purchased for only $950!

All donations are 100% tax-deductible!

The volunteers respond to sightings of sick foals in any way they can… horse, truck, on foot… Here is a baby they helped recover.
